Title: DVLA Post by: Sippo on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 13:52:16 I've looked on the dvla website and I'm a bit confused...
When you need to change the address on your driving license do you need to send a photo, or does the card/paper part suffice? Title: DVLA Post by: DMR on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 13:54:07 With mine I just filled a form in, didn't send anything back to them, and mine came through pretty quickly.
Title: DVLA Post by: Samdy Gray on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 13:55:20 I did it about 6 months ago, had to send both parts because they've both got your address on.
Title: DVLA Post by: Bushey Boy on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 13:57:45 Im still registered in London, got points since etc and always gets sent back.

If you already have the photocard bit then just send that and the paper section back with the D1 application form, no photo required. If you only have just the old paper license then you'll need to send a passport type photo as well. Title: DVLA Post by: Sippo on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 14:02:28 Cheers guys.
Title: DVLA Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 14:34:24 God I need to change mine - I gave it over as ID at the sorting office to pick up a parcel and it still had my old address on so they wouldnt accept it

Title: DVLA Post by: Sippo on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 14:49:31 V5 is the easy part. If you don't fill that out you can't get a tax disc reminder don't forget!!
Title: DVLA Post by: herthab on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 14:52:28 Engrossing, exciting and informative.
Thanks guys! :D Title: DVLA Post by: neville w on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 16:18:14 You can actually be penalised if the address isn't current and they find out.
Although from Bushey's experience looks like they're not too diligent about it. Apparently if your mail will be forwarded its probably ok, if risky. Best not to take the chance though. http://www.dvla.gov.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/archive2006/20060310_17.aspx Title: DVLA Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 16:23:32 When I sent off my licence for pints I did get a nasty letter back saying please change your address - but I kinda forgot

Title: DVLA Post by: Barry Scott on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 18:13:44 I'm extremely bad at this sort of thing and at some point, someone or something will bite my arse.
I haven't lived with parents for years, but everything that can be, is always directed to the old dears house! My car's V5, insurance, drivers licence, mobile phones, banks, you name it it's my Mum's house. I give it out by default and never, unless i have to provide my own address. It just seems far easier, i obviously have household bills coming to my place, but sod changing everything over. I don't know how long i'll live in any one place, so everything, that can be, remains addressed to my Mum's house. Easy peasy. Title: DVLA Post by: Bob's Orange on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 18:16:45 Pants, I never did this after moving to Lux
