Title: Petrol
Post by: Luci on Friday, November 16, 2007, 17:49:02
Just went to put petrol in my car for tomorrow and what the hell happened to the clicking noise it makes when the tanks full?

It made no noise and petrol just sprayed out all over me and my car, I stink of fuel and have paid for fuel sitting on the forecourt at Asda.  Not happy

Sorry had to rant

nah I didn't as no-one else seemed to have any problems and thought he'd think typical woman although it was blatently the fault of the tank as I wholeheartedly rely on those little clicks!

gotta wash everything now or else I might become flammable!

i always thought that the click was when the pump was backing up on itself...

anyway how else would you tell your tank is full unless you know the exact capacity available?

what happens is that as you fill the tank with petrol, the air exits the tank and should set off a stop valve inside the pump to stop it over filling.

if i was you stfc lady i would be fucking livid if science failed on me.

I've got my breakfast bap sorted thanks  :)

For the purely selfish reason that I want the car to stay in one piece at least til we get there, I thought of the smoking thing.
