Title: pay rise advice Post by: juddie on Thursday, November 8, 2007, 20:04:12 So I'm going for a new position at my place, which will involve me working on a golf mag two weeks a month, then working on my current mag for two weeks in the same role. So the golf thing is a step up, and it'll be more work in the long run, what sort of percentage of your salary should I be asking for?
I hate this kind of stuff. Guage the % more work you'll be taking on (monthly) x 12 and ask for that % in cash terms on top of your current salary (obviously round it up a few grand for haggling purposes), ask for it to be reviewed after a 3 month period in case you've underestimated the extra workload. Working with journos, I doubt you will have though! :) Title: pay rise advice Post by: juddie on Thursday, November 8, 2007, 20:42:17 that's the way things work, more work less money - you have to actually climb the ladder to get a rise here, which this will be.gonna be loadsa work, but hopefully worth it.

Title: pay rise advice Post by: Lumps on Saturday, November 10, 2007, 17:02:25 Depends how strong positioin you're in.
Is there anyone else that could do it as well as you? How much do you want to do it? Do they know how much you want to do it? That sort of stuff. If you're not that bothered about it, and they need you then ask for a fucking stupid figure and see what they say.
