I was sat there watching the game last night, and after about 10 minutes noticed the "scoreboard" had gone! :cry:

I then go on ThisisSTFC and to my surprise  :o  i find we're getting a new one  :\/  from Reading :wall

Have to say the ones at Reading when I went were pretty good 8). And we won 3-1 8) . And I watched England U21's win 3-1 there too 8) .

Maybe a good omen  :\/

how long before the electronics get stolen out of it? i reckon it will last until the end of the season then some pikey gypo's will steal it all in the summer

yeah so everybody raves about the old wembley scoreboard we got. and what a load of soapy tit wank that was! can an old reading scoreboard really be that good?

Once again we seem to be 'happy' to settle for other clubs junk. If the ground is supposed to be redeveloped, you would have thought that would have included a state of the art tv/scoreboard?

But of course the developement is a good while of yet!  I am quite happy to have someone else's cast-offs for the time being! Rather spend money on more important things!

The club didn't pay for the scoreboard though! The Supporters Club did.

If it brings in some advertising revenue then it can't be a bad thing. Be nice to read all the ht/ft scores on it as well and any important ticket info,better than trying to listen to the PA.

next wednesday whilst on the PA system we listen to half time scores being read out while the PA keeps cutting out so we are all none the wiser.

do we really need a scoreboard to tell us are team is shit and losing?

I've always wondered what the point of scoreboards at football matches.  It's not a high scoring match, like rugby or basketball.  Do you really need to check the score all the time?  If so try asking the bloke next to you, he'll probably know.  

Fair enough if it's used for advertising etc.  But ones that flash up Goal when a goal has been scored WTF's that all about.  Do you really need a scoreboard to tell you that sort of information?

Depends how pissed and coherant you are!

It's handy when you go to grounds with a timer on the scoreboard, also ones that show the team news and half time/full time scores. So basically everything except showing the score, which is probably all that our new one will do :/

Yep not doubting that SY, the ones that just show the score that's the ones I'm on about.  Timers fine, other scores, yep no problem.  The ones that just have the score on there they're the ones I hate.

League rules have something about it :


Rule 7.1.3 -   Although not compulsory it is advisable to have a basic board displaying the score, clearly visible from all areas of the ground to make the match day experience more understandable for women attending the match.
