I get a constant 7 meg download. me too, i pay for 8 meg and I get 8meg as well as unlimited downloads. And no problems with dropped connection or anything. I'm sure some other places are a little bit cheaper but i like not having any arse-ache with broadband. Title: Good ISP Post by: Peter Venkman on Sunday, October 7, 2007, 14:26:56 BT are very good and offer good 8MB downloads plus unlimeted downloads.
But be very wary of unlimited downloads....they are not what they seem. EVERY ISp now uses FUP (Fair Usage Policy) and they can vary hugely from ISP to ISP. AOL is around 40gb per month, BT around 40-60gb per month but some are as little as 4 or 5 gb per month, which means when you have downloaded 4 or 5 gb in one month they will limit your download speeds to on occassions less than 256k at peak time and AOL have been known to limit your speeds 24/7 for one month. Watch out and read the FUP small print! Title: Good ISP Post by: Stef Troll on Sunday, October 7, 2007, 14:28:40 I've got sky.
At first my connection was a bit dodgey, but these last couple of months i've had no problems what so ever Title: Good ISP Post by: land_of_bo on Sunday, October 7, 2007, 18:59:45 I'm with BT, always been fine for me.
I'd avoid any of the "free" broadband suppliers, they throttle the connection so much. Title: Good ISP Post by: Arriba on Sunday, October 7, 2007, 19:02:49 i'm with tiscali. alright when its working, but absolutley terrible if there are problems.thankfully there have been few for me
