Fitting it on the other hand, not so depending on the car. I've never looked under the bonnet of a Megane, but being french I can quite imagine its a rats nest under there. It cost me 30 bucks plus a crate of beer to replace my RAV4 cambelt a couple of months back. A mate with the right tools, an hour or two and a suitable bribe did the trick . If it's a Phase 1 or Phase 2 with a 2.0 engine then your looking at £200+ because they've got hydraulic tappetts which causes additional work to get to the cambelt. If it's a newer Megane (the one's that look fucking awful IMO) then I ain't got a clue, but I'd guess they'd be pretty expensive too because they have VVT. Title: cam belt Post by: juddie on Friday, October 5, 2007, 09:14:18 It's a v reg 1.6, so might be lucky... need to get it done b4 tuesday. I've had two cars die on me on the way to swindon games before, and I'm going to cheltenham and the megane ain't sounding pretty!
