Game mate. I think they had some good deals going on at the mo, Xbox 360 with 3 games £259. Im not sure if it was a core or a premium version though.

Premium you get a 20gb hdd i think. It costs £70 on its own i think, so itll prob be worth getting a Premium as you get that and a wireless controller as well. Have a look on www.game.co.uk

as much as i wanna play halo, skate is out on friday and i'm far, far, far more excited by that.

and fifa 08 is too, tho the reviews dont sound brilliant, but you get to play as swindon, so i might get that too. pro evo 6 is boring me now, the lack of editing, custom teams, custom players etc is crap. pro evo 2008 is out next month tho, woop!

i downloaded the fifa demo and its slow as shit. virgin did have a fairly good offer at one point elite for 300 and free bioshock game if they have the stock tho.

Don't bother wasting your money, Fifa 08' is as slow and sluggish as the 07' version.

Downloaded both Fifa 08 and Pro Evo 2008 demo's on my Xbox and i have to say Pro Evo was better by a country mile.

Pro Evo all the way. If FIFA actually had decent game play it might become close.

The PS3 is shit and overpriced though. Until they reduce it they won't sell anymore than they are now. Xbox has now reduced it's 360 RRP to compete with the Wii this christmas. I'd strongly suggest to Sony that they do the same.

aparantly the demo and proper versions of fifa are different, they've sorted out all the problems. wont be getting it this week, so will see what the general feeling towards it is before i buy it. i fully expect it to be crap, but i might be surprised. doubt it tho :P

Shit? Not in the slightest. Overpriced? Yes, everything is. You want something, you pay for it. The graphics are slightly better on ps3 in comparison. 360 has the benefit of titles like Halo, etc. Ps3, gran turismo, tekken, etc. For me personally the 360 is 2nd best. Playing pro evo on the 360 would just be a dissapointing affair with the controllers being as they are. So yes you could say i spent an extra 150 quid because of a controller. Worth every fucking penny ;)

i far prefer the 360 controller, my hands dont cramp up like they used to after hours and hours of use like the playstation controllers did.


eventually i'd quite like a ps3, but the price is rediculous, and i'm waiting to see if blueray discs do really go down the pan.

hmm.. the blu ray film thing wont take off in comparison to hddvd. Its a stupid idea on sony's part, but hey thats not what i bought a ps3 for. You're welcome to come and see it in action for yourself Mr Leggett. But unless you want specific games not being released for the 360 i cant see the need to buy a ps3 now. But you can always come over and have a blast on mine if you're in doubt.

The PS3 is no better than the 360. In fact they are pretty much the same. The games that used to be exclusive to the Playstation are now making their way to the 360. GTA is an example of this. so you don't really get an advantage by buying a PS3. The controller on the 360 is much better than the one on the original Xbox. I like the trigger buttons as well. They are better for driving games. Does the PS3 have trigger buttons? Not sure if it does or not.

Yep it does. 2 of them.  Like I said previous, the graphics are slightly better on ps3 when put side by side and there's a few title differences and the blu ray format issue but yeah they are much the same. I just would'nt have been content with a 360 hence why i forked out for a ps3.

That's very hard to say. I would probably disagree as I reckon universal players will probably be cheap enough by the time HD/Blu Ray becomes the norm anyway.

Loads of releases coming up before Christmas. PGR4 and the new Need For Speed are coming out. The one i can't wait for is the new Pro Evo though. That looks immense.

I think it's actually because you need storage space to have the emulation software, so once you have that maybe it will be ok.

The core edition doesn't have the 20gb HD and you need that to save anything.

You could always buy my Premium console Sippo, which has shit loads of stuff with it, ok you might not play some of the games but considering it's got 2 pads, play and charge kit and a wireless network adapter with it it's a steal.

But i don't want to pay more than £300 spuddy...

I've heard Skate has a great control system but after solid play the game doesn't offer much depth other than that :?

I think the whole career mode is a good idea.

And unlike Tony Hawk's games, your not limited to certain parks. You can skate the whole city.

I'm considering a purchase definitely just gonna wait to see what the next tony game's like. It's out shortly I think. Proving Grounds I think it's called.
