Well, to sound like I'm under the thumb - I'm moving up with the missus - she's got a job doing research for the University of Durham so I'll be getting whatever job I can get!

Durham is a nice little city with a beautiful cathedral at the top of the town centre.  Not much nightlife to speak of, although with there being a biggish university there it's probably quite busy through the week.  You'd have to go to Newcastle for a decent night out really, or maybe Yarm but that's even further away.

Quite a posh place, hence why alot of the regions footballers live there.  The university is pretty snobbish as well, you'll probably see alot of the stereotypical public schoolboy hockey/rugby team twats about.  Quite different from Mutley Plains anyway.

If you ever find yourself in the Seven Stars in Shincliffe, say hello to Tom the local nutcase for me.  Don't worry about finding him, he'll find you :D

I've vistited Durham before but it's all well and good going there for a day - but living there? I'll probably try and get a job in Newcastle too.

The north east is ace, probably the best part of England. The people are lovely, the countryside's lovely and the beaches aren't that crowded  :wink:  you'll have a grand time.

2008 sounds dodgy though (even though you said spring 2007) - Liverpool?!?  Good luck.

Today will  the last day I'll be online for a while - I'll have no internet access in Durham.

The move to the North means I will see be hoping to meet TEF members at as many Northern aways games as possible Leeds/Huddersfield/Carlisle(!!)/Tranmere et al.

I will be spending the majority of my last shift at work (9-5) on the TEF, what are they going to do? Sack me!

Went out for a few last night to acknowledge my departure from Plymuff - head hurts a little!

Is the Klute club in Durham still open? I went there once I would guess 1993.. All I can remember is a bloke had the word "lamp" written on his sleeves. Because he liked to lamp people.

what he said - I used to live up there a few years ago.  Gets a bit overwhelmed by all the students - and then german tourists when all the students piss off in the summer - but still a very pretty little place.  You can get to Toon on the train easily in about 20 minutes, you used to be able to get away without paying, although trains back used to be at 10.30 or 1.30 which was a bit annoying.  Had to take a few late night cabs back, although back then was only 15 quid !

Some excellent pubs (well they were 10 years ago !) if you like a pint of ale old comfy boozers - the vic, dun cow, elm tree, angel (only juke box i ever found 'lemmy sings stand by your man' on), shakespear, swan and three, half moon, colpitts. I'd probably count a few of them on my list of 10 best ever.  Hopefully they haven't all turned into souless IKEA laden aftershock vendors in the intervening period.

Yeah, Newcastle is uber-close on the train - we got some Complementary tickets for Newcastle vs. Tottenham later in the month so at least there's some football. Apparently I'm going Middlesbrough vs. Chelski aswell 2 days before.

Not that I want to make it a habit - I want to go to Darlington's empty stadium though!!!

To be honest - I'm not keen on the move whatsover - I was happy to just save up pennies in Plymouth until moving to Liverpool in February but, alas, it wasn't to be - The annoying thing is I've got to find another soul destroying, easy to quit job!
