Not having a pop or anything, but are you in a wheelchair?

When I was at school, as long as you turned up with your shorts and could run, the minimum you got was a C.......

It's mainly the coursework.
GSCE P.E is different to the P.E that every kid from primary through to secondary does.
I was ok in the actual tests, but coursework brings your grade down a stupid amount if it isn't very good.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I left school with no qualifications, probably due to the same reason as your low grades, I couldn't be arsed.

Returned to full time education in my thirties, got my A Levels and went to Uni.

And am now..............

Hopefully this PC explanation will go some way to off setting the distress I caused you.

My GCSE's were mediocre at best (can't even remember what I got now, suffice to say they were poor) - I escaped from Westbury, knuckled down in Higher Education, eventually managed to get into uni (despite doing a pointless course in hindsight) and am now embarking on a Masters degree.

Exams don't seem to me to be a true test of intelligence - more a test of those who get their head down and work.  I went to a decent secondary school and college and so was pushed through my exams and subsequently got very decent results....  Get to uni, and no one on my back forcing me to get my head down, and I struggle.  I'm dreading my third year....   :|

And that sums up the education system Rus.

However, I would like to think that once my daughter gets to an age that she is at Uni then she would be motivated enough in herself to want to work.

That is not meant disrepectful to you mate, some people can motivate themselves and some people need to be motivated............we are all different mate

I had exactly the same thing as Walrus. After the first 2 years at Uni I was on for a third after getting good A-Levels, then I did a year's 'Industrial Placement' and realised I could get up in the mornings and do a good day's work and went on to get a first for my final year, giving me a 2:1 overall.

Just got to find some way to motivate yourself and it's easy, it's just finding that motivation that's the problem.

Maths coursework is worth 30%
98% - 30% = 68%

You don't understand percentages :D. If the exam was worth 70% and you got 98 % then you got 68.6 % of those 70% and presuming you got 0 % on the coursework then you got 68.6% overall.

You need 1.4/30 or just under 5% on the coursework to get the C, you could have probably handed any old shit in.

I admit that's pretty close to what you said. But let's use your logic with a different situation. Say it was 50% exam and 50% coursework. By your maths if you'd got 40% on the exam and nothing on the coursework.
40% - 50% = -10%. In reality you would have got 40% of 50% = 20%

I think that's right anyway. Maths genius Ben is a long time ago and any I did at uni was blanked out my lot's of alcohol.

That is the funniest thing I've read on here!

I've met hardly any of you, but I seem to know a fair bit, I wonder how?

Maybe because most of us go on about our favourite subject so much........OURSELVES!

Get over yourselves FFS, most of what I post is a piss take, why Bushy decided to take me seriously this time I dunno......
