Anyone know which pub Swindon fans are going to, preferably with a beer garden?

From their rivals site:

HOME FANS ONLY:
THE MAGIC TOWER
SIXFIELDS TAVERN
THE SPORTING BAR
WEST STAND CONCOURSE

However, you will not be disappointed with the pubs and bars around Sixfields that WILL welcome AWAY FANS:

The Megabowl
Situated at the top of Sixfields, the huge white building cannot be missed! Pool tables, Bowling, the works. A good, relaxed atmosphere and a big range of drinks.

TGI Fridays
Being just a mere 50 metres from the ground, the theme bar sells a range of drinks and American food, and is a favourite meeting place for away fans.

There are a few pubs on the way through from the Town Centre and Train Station that you could also try.

* The Rover - a nice pub situated five minute walk away from Sixfields towards the Northampton Saints rugby ground.
* The Foundry - near the rugby ground, the small pub is a great drinking place for the sports fan.
* Thomas A. Beckett - Just a two minute walk from the train station on the way to Sixfields.

Could try looking them up on www.beerintheevening.com to find out about beer gardens etc..

Last time for me was Swansea away and I agree Luc, service took ages.  Sounds like Northampton have a similar complex to the Liberty Stadium.

From another Northampton Town site:

Quote
PUBS FOR AWAY FANS NEAR GROUND:  Two on Sixfields Leisure Complex. From the away fans (South) car park you need to go up the hill round to the other end of the stadium. Both get very crowded on match days and Washington Square is a regular site of fisticuffs. You best bet for a quiet drink is on one fo the 100's of country pubs on your way into turn.

Guess the best thing to do is that the first lot to turn up, see if TGI's is too busy etc.. and if so find an alternative nearby and let others know. Between us we've all got mobile numbers to get in contact with everyone.

Worked at Accrington (and Rovers) last season. Designated pub didn't open until twelve (booo), so a couple of texts meant everyone found their way to one that was open and near the ground. Very nice it was too.

Cheers

Andy McNab
