Brake pipes exploded from front to back when they put it on the roller things (lucky I wasn't driving it at the time I guess) plus loads of other stuff. Estimated £500+ to get it through, cost £400 last year, so the fucking things getting scrapped. The challenge: 2k budget and 24 hours to find a car and get back on the road. Grrrr. Very underrated and wonderfully under priced. As long as the complex suspension doesn't fuck up. Also expensive to service DIY, like any non Rover/Vauxhall/Ford. I've been offered a Mondeo Verona 1.8 on a S plate with a genuine 44,000 miles, fsh etc for £900! Only problem is it is in Aberdeen which would mean £130 on a flight up there to get it and 2 tanks of fuel minimum to get home, plus I've not driven it yet to check it out...
