Title: Pissed off Post by: glos_robin on Monday, July 30, 2007, 18:20:38 Well my cars been to Citroen today with what I thought was only a couple of minor problems following the flooding.....but no.
1. Needs a new ECU and on top of that to be fully dried first so thats gonna cost me £471. 2. On top of that when the new ECU is fitted there is a risk that the dashboard wiring loom may be fucked so that'd be another £600. 3. Might still need a new alternator which would be £200. So potentially I'm looking at a £1,200 repair bill. Can't claim on my insurance as would lose my no claims bonus (which will become protected as of the 24th of August). If I claimed on the insurance that would probably cost me about £2,000 over the next 3 years in extra insurance costs and I also would have to wait for another 4 years before I could protect my no claims again So gotta brace myself for a £1,200 bill from Citroen. On top of that without a car I can't get to work so I'll have to hire a car so that'll be another £200. Looks like these floods are personally going to cost me around £1,500....l :( Title: Pissed off Post by: ronnie21 on Monday, July 30, 2007, 18:28:55 Shit mate! tough luck!
Title: Pissed off Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, July 30, 2007, 18:30:35 That is shit. What if the same thing happens within the next few years though?

Title: Pissed off Post by: Sussex on Monday, July 30, 2007, 18:36:31 Ouch! That's shit fella.
I know hindsight etc... But I made Birdy get her no-claims protected recently, worked out about five quid extra a month. Well worth it considering the 4 years and cost of insurance whilst getting them back again. Title: Pissed off Post by: glos_robin on Monday, July 30, 2007, 18:53:55 I go protected no claims from August the 24th as I'll then have 4 years no claims, so all happened a month too early.....bad luck hey!
This was a freak one off the house is 30 years old and waters never even got close before, in the future I'll park up the top of the road at any sign of floods so shouldn't happen again (touch wood and I'll have protected no claims then as well anyway) Can't get it botched elsewhere either now as its already in bits drying in the Shitroen garage. Being 22 and with insurance companies gobbling up the hire cars I can't get a rental car by the looks of it. This whole business is fucking infuriating and if I aint careful could end up costing me my job if I end up being off for too long :| Title: Pissed off Post by: STFCDude2 on Monday, July 30, 2007, 23:06:51 should live here, glorious sunshine we had!!!!!!

Seems like a pretty harmless post. I think I've always posted about how ace it is living on a hill.
Ironside's effort on the other hand just comes across as :fishing: . Don't rise to it. Title: Re: Pissed off Post by: glos_robin on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, 10:44:23 Ironside as ever you just jump to conclusions. If you bothered looking at the pictures I posted a last week you'd see my car was parked on my driveway, but as ever your just blinded by your own arrogance.
Anyway just been to Shitroen and the cars completely stripped out now and the repair bill currently is looking like £871. Both my parents cars have been written off today (both less than 3 years old) as have 27 other cars down our road as it stands..... Insurance company have written off pretty much everything downstairs in our house now as well. Title: Pissed off Post by: Luci on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, 10:49:23 I really hope you get everything sorted.
Really gutted for you. Title: Pissed off Post by: glos_robin on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, 10:56:32 Cheers,
don't think I'll be going to the City friendly tonight or Exeter Saturday as its money I can't really spend. Given my Northampton ticket to a mate as well as will have to cut back on spending for a couple of months. Touch wood I'll have protected no claims from August the 24th which will be nice. The latest is the insurance company want us to spend 6 months living in a caravan living on our driveway, my dad is having none of it though and will refuse to move out as he's inspected under the floorboards downstairs and its not that bag thankfully. Title: Pissed off Post by: tans on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, 11:28:11 hope it gets sorted for you fella
Title: Pissed off Post by: glos_robin on Thursday, August 2, 2007, 17:03:31 *Update
Just got my car back and all fixed for £778 which is better than I expected but £778 more than I wanted to spend this month but at least I can get to work now. Attention now moves onto the house which isn't such a simple issue.... Title: Pissed off Post by: lebowski on Thursday, August 2, 2007, 17:06:06 did you have your water turned off?
