They still aren't sure that a tsunami will definatley be a result, though it does appear to be very similar to the boxing day one.

One a slightly related note: I heard from a geologist mate that the San Andreas fault is due a big'un in the next few years or so...

The earthquake in december was 9.0 possibly higher which is one of the biggest ever, this one is 8.2 meaning it's 8 times smaller. Still big though.

Its actually 30 times smaller according to the radio? It must go up in 30's.

they're saying its between 8.2-8.5 and proportionally about 30 times smaller than the last one

They're counting the last one as 9.5 then, depends whose data you go by. If this is 8.2 then that's 30 times smaller, 'cos it goes up logarithmically.

sounds like a land based earthquake according to sky news, it may happen but doesn't look to likely. They are worried about a chain of earthquakes though  :(  :?

Bit off topic but that would be superb.  The Liverpool one the other day had crowds flocking in.

Might be a nice way to help generate a bit of summer income.
