The film Children of Men.

What a pile of crap, I was watching it at work so was doing other stuff but it really did seem a load of nonsense.Why were the immigrants being shot and stuff?

I've never heard of it, but then I'm a bit behind on films and stuff.

Looked it up on wikipedia and it seems to be about a futuristic Britain which possibly has the only surviving government during some sort of infertility apocalyptic disaster. Good on us British I say.

Actually maybe not, I'm always up for some anarchy.

Children of Men is brilliant imo. Bleak, but brilliant.

The refugees were being shot, because they were revolting :)

They were shooting them at random before the refuge town place?

In the screenplay I'm writing there is lot's of shooting. But it's mainly about the left over population after the rapture. They hang about to fight the apocalyptic horsemen and the leviathan and stuff. They use the weapons available to fight for everybody's souls (tag line ish). Some of the characters are based on people on here. It has a slight humorous twist. Comedy meets B-Movie Monsters meets Religion meets Post apocalyptic survival. I'm sure I'll get a romantic twist in there as well.

Bit of a marmite film i think, the two guys i watched it at the cinema with, thought it was shit as well.

I went to the flicks to see this last year. First time I had been to a cinema in Luxembourg, fact!

I thought it was a missed opportunity to be honest - in that the idea was good, but frankly large parts of it didnt make a great deal of sense

it was a dissapointment for me as I thought it was a great idea just badly executed.  The "immigrants" were basically being demonised as society begins to collapse and the prevailing government latches on the tactics of fear to retain control and prevent anarchy, or something like that.

I thought they completely missed a trick with concept of the terrorist group and the pregnant woman..  They also didn't really focus in on the whole infertility thing enough (which while being far fetched is a growing issue in the West isn't it).

Overall, good idea, bad execution.

I thought it was a bit of a nothing film...  I had high hopes but it was a bit too bleak and ambiguous for my liking...  plus the ending was poo.
