Names Rob T, we need names. Which school did you go to? Title: Transformers Post by: Barry Scott on Sunday, July 29, 2007, 00:26:01 About halfway through on alluc.org.
What is everyone on about? It's a cliché filled cheese fest. It seems that they put almost no effort into the story. It's mildly enjoyable, but far from good. Seems like everyone is caught up in the hype, it's like Hulk, a good concept, but a wank execution. Surely a cliche filled cheese fest is the best you can expect? If it pulls it off then yay. I can't see the new Transformers movie threatening any greatest ever films lists. Title: Transformers Post by: pumbaa on Sunday, July 29, 2007, 01:48:31 7.9 out of 10 rating on IMDB, so it can't be THAT bad.
I'll be the first to admit that I had dismissed it as utter shite, but I'm actually quite keen to now go and watch it. Title: Transformers Post by: Bennett on Sunday, July 29, 2007, 08:31:08 i downloaded and am currently enjoying it now
that bird in it is tidy Title: Transformers Post by: Barry Scott on Sunday, July 29, 2007, 10:18:43 Quote from: "flammableBen" Surely a cliche filled cheese fest is the best you can expect? Indeed, you're right. The film has to appeal to children or the merchandising deal goes out the window, then they can't produce x sequels, then the franchise flops. I just don't see why hollywood has to do it? People would still have watched it. After all, the original cartoon "Transformers - The Movie" was out in my childhood, i watched that recently. It's cheese free and has a better story line than the current movie. Title: Transformers Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, July 29, 2007, 10:27:09 Wasn't the original cartoon film considered a bit of a flop? I was a bit young at the time to understand such things but I think I remember reading something about how it didn't get the expected success.
Title: Transformers Post by: Barry Scott on Sunday, July 29, 2007, 10:42:27 I think so, but to be honest, i don't know. I was also a bit young and certainly don't recall watching it when younger.

Nah im not caught up in the hype at all, i thought it was a good film....end of. Title: Transformers Post by: Rich Pullen on Sunday, July 29, 2007, 20:59:19 Just got back from watching the film.
It is a Michael Bay film so that means we, as a rule, have to disregard the notion of having a plot. But it's the usual summer popcorn-turn-brains-off spectacle and as a result I was entertained. Title: Transformers Post by: STFC Village on Sunday, July 29, 2007, 22:40:41 I too just got back from seeing this, and i 100% agree with Mr Pullen. Great effects
Title: Transformers Post by: Barry Scott on Sunday, July 29, 2007, 23:09:29 I've just finished it. As my original comments were made halfway through. It's fun, it's a good film, but like Rich Pullen said, it's a brains-out film.
You have to remember who it's for and when you watch it to be aware that it's a film for children, it is a thoroughly watchable film though. Title: Transformers Post by: Spud on Monday, July 30, 2007, 02:07:10 Let's agree on one thing here, Megan Fox is fit.
Title: Transformers Post by: tans on Monday, July 30, 2007, 02:08:35
Title: Transformers Post by: Colin Todd on Monday, July 30, 2007, 08:46:34 Its not going to win any oscars (apart from the properly jaw dropping effects) but I throughly enjoyed it.
Last film that I thought was that cool ( and bear in mind that cool is different to quality) was the Matrix Title: Transformers Post by: oxford_fan on Wednesday, August 1, 2007, 17:34:53 Quote from: "Barry Scott" I've just finished it.
