Does anyone know if flood damage is covered on fully comprehensive car insurance as my car is on the driveway also filling up with water? Title: It's all fucked!! As already said, I would imagine the car insurance will be fine. I think the 'act of god' clauses are long gone, but like already said it will probably effect your NCD - if the NCD is protected then you will have an excess to pay and probably a higher insuance premium next renewal :( House buildings/contents insurance will be an excess to pay and a possibly higher premium next time. They covered us for out washing machine leaking and destroying lino/chipboard floor so you should be fine here too. Title: It's all fucked!! As for the "act of God/terrorism" style of exclusions that are included in policies do not worry about it mate. If you consider Russia launching a three nuclear bomb attack on uk wiping out London, Birmingham and Manchester the insurance companies could not afford to pay out every building, life, income protection claim that came in, so they have to protect themselves. In times like these yes there are plenty of cliams but nothing that would put a company out of business, therefore it'd be really bad press if your company decide hide behind that exclusion and another company pays out. So in summary you shouldn't have any problems claiming for flood damage. Title: It's all fucked!! So as long as the thing moves I'll just get rid me thinks. It is being part exchanged towards my new car which is due Sept 1st but if I could get it before then possibly. If that happens I'll take them up on the early off make sure mine is clean and is running and give it to them to deal with before any problems develop on it. Can't see the central locking light flashing though so the ECU might be fucked. Downstairs in the house is abit shit is a bit shit and the loss adjusters are going to be busy down here........that what happens when they keep building on the fucking flood plains that surround Tewkesbury. Currently got the blue Police helicopter circling and some dirty great oil rig transporter helicopter helping out. Insurance companies are very smart nowadays. They know by postcode whether your house is built on a flood plain, and will load your premium accordingly. You should be covered fine, but as others have said, may find subsequent renewal premiums more expensive. I've no idea about how your car insurance will be dealt with though. Title: It's all fucked!! How fucking dumb can they be, it was flooding all around them for the last day and a half so all the Severn Trent managers should get the sack. That means we've got no water to clean cars, the house etc........utter chaos, and the water levels rising again :|

One big puddle on Bassett road and the tail backs were 2 miles, all they had to do was drive through it at the edge slowly, but no lets try and drive through the middle! Same goes for when it snows!

They just seemed to understand that mother nature wins, everytime. Better to let her have her stage and then come on for the encore. We have idiots deciding 6 inches of rain means the end of the world as we know it. In Bangladesh their bloody houses get washed away, here we get emotional about some pensioner who looses her carpet. We might carry on regardless, but we don't half make a Saturday evening melodrama out of it. |
