When the forum get's slow don't start hitting the submit button over and over again after writing a message. Often it's submitted the message but it's being slow loading the next page (the one which asks you if you want to go back to the forum / view your message). Hitting submit again just reposts the message, that's how you end up with lot's of message repeats.
