i got cooked a full english breakfast, took a stroll by a river and then had a few beers. not a bad day at all.

I’ve had a shocking left sided headache all day but thoroughly enjoyed a Lister-esque fried egg and chilli sauce bap 5 minutes ago.

My hand is leaking puss.

I went to the friendly, and then found out my mates dad couldn't get us home. So that meant a half hour wait in the midle of south marston waiting for the bus. And when said double-decker bus arrived it was packed full of foreigners  :?  Now im watching top gear and eating mini doghnuts.

I need a life  :(

Sonic's moving house so will be internetless for a couple of weeks. I'm the most sensible and trustworthy person on here. (and Whits is on holiday and Dazzza isn't online as much.)

we always used to play a version of dodgeball with a tennis ball up against a wall, if you caught the ball you can lace it at the poor fuckers stood against the wall - you couldn't come away from the wall until you had been hit.

We used to play Beatball at school. Lot's of people, a defined space and a couple of footballs. Get hit above the ankle by a football and you were fair game for a kicking until you managed to get outside the designated area. Same if you kicked the ball out. Happy days. Worked quite well on the tennis courts as well as the field.

i saw one group of kids play our game with a cricket ball, one broken jaw later and a quick trip to A&E put paid to that version.

I was serious about the dodgeball idea. I've got a feeling that I'd be superbly good at dodgeball.

Apparently tomorrow I'm going to do the research into setting up a regional dodgeball league.

There's a possibility that I'll have to work tomorrow night. Depends on how busy it is. I said that I'd wander up about 7ish and check out the situation. Anybody fancy a free Tapas and a beer? I'll shout someone one as an insurance policy, so that if I don't work I have someone to go to the pub with.

I think we need to set up a team and organise some friendlies first. Is dodgeball and olympic sport? If some of us get good then we might get to represent our country. It's the sort of game I imagine the Japanese and Koreans are amazing at, so I wouldn't expect a medal.

NMH is indeed in the States, Denver I think. I seem to remember him saying something about going travelling, although I'm sure I saw him online a few days back, and he last posted on 7 July.

Today was really fun. Hadn't seen the tef crew for a while, we're a crazy bunch of social losers. Well apart form me, and Bennett. Bennett's ace now he's drinking again. We've been seeing a lot of each other.

It'd been a while since I'd seen Sonic, VD or Lady so it was nice. In fact I hadn't seen Lady since she went away, she's funny.

Anyway, I'm digressing (not sure that's a word, but hay ho). When are you back on our wonderful island? And what have you missed, I know you've been back recently but there must be something that you can't really do/get in yankland.

I'm back permanently at the end of January, but I'll be back once or twice before then for job interviews and the like.

What do I miss about England? Apart from STFC, probably the following:

Decent bread - everything here is sweet, and the good stuff is bloody expensive.
Traffic jams. Everywhere.
Monkey World.
Always being about an hour away from a beach.
The fact that Burger King is quite good in England, whereas its crap here.
Warm beer. Proper beer as well. Add cider on draft to that list too. And Leffe Brune.
The fact that you have to walk to a cash machine/pharmacist.
That a mobile phone is not an essential tool for driving.
Shops that close at half five. Costs me a fortune when they stay open until ten.
Dairy Milk. Made by Cadbury, not fucking Hershey.
History. The fact we have some.
Curry.
Fish & Chips.

I can probably think of more, but thats enough for you to get your teeth into.

Good list, apart from the highlighted. Shops opening late is the bestest thing ever. I can buy Wine up to 11pm now.
