Just posting this as had email from L&P re the renewal of the Lee Peacock sponsorship (not sure why I got that email but neither here nor there) but wondering if anyone would be up for sponsoring a player separately, perhaps jesus or someone else?

I know a lot of you are already doing the L&P one and I'm not trying to override that in anyway, just thought it would be an idea if anyone is interested as I wanna do it this year and can no way afford the whole sum!

Surely one of the most exciting and novel ways to be associated with Swindon Town is by sponsoring a player’s shirt for the season. Always very popular and well supported, it is an ideal opportunity for fans to show their support of the Club and their favourite player by sponsoring his playing shirt. There are some excellent benefits on offer to all shirt sponsors and they include:

•   A Platinum Day Out for two at the Club at a Coca-Cola home League match
•   The playing shirt of your sponsored player fully signed and presented to you
•   Two complimentary tickets to the annual ‘Shirt Sponsors’ dinner. We held this event in February last season and received very positive feedback from all who attended. At this event you will spend the evening and have your photograph taken with your sponsored player
•   Two Main Stand tickets to a Coca Cola home League game

Cost to sponsor a player’s kit for season 2007/2008

Home Kit - £350 + VAT
Away  Kit - £350 + VAT
Home & Away Kit - £600 + VAT

Players are subject to availability and will be sold on a first come first served basis.

I posted this on L & P as well; but just in case you're not aware.

If you get people to pay by pay-pal then Pay-pal take a fee for every transaction so you would need to factor that into the cost otherwise you'd fall short once everyone had paid.

i'd imagine the best way to collect money would be to sort out a paypal donation thing, then people can chuck in whatever they can afford, which is what whits did with the seano sponsorship i believe

I'm chipping in a tenner on the L&P one but that's pretty much the only expenditure above and beyond the games I go to.  I tried the not going to games protest but found myself drawn back in.  This season, as things stand, I'll be trying to go to more away games at the sacrifice of home ones.

Right on £340 at the moment so can easily make up to 411 no probs.

Prob best to collect what we have asap to ensure we get the player of choice & I know a few ppl are on their hols.  

Payment method wise tbh doesn't hugely matter but avoiding paypal is prob a good idea if possible due to the charges.  Bank transfers/cheques etc. whatever is easier.  Myself or Fred can collect as we both said we can add extra at the end should we need to to make up the £411.  I know a couple wanted to do it in person too so can arrange that privately.

Just PM either of us and we can give details so we can finally get the ball rolling...................
