This sounds like it was a fair bit better than the fucking Diana memorial trophy concert, good god that must have tarnished our reputation to the rest of the world. Why couldn't Al-Qaeda answer my prayers for a bit of terrorist action? Bloody Allah.

This concert was utter bollocks compared to Diana last week.  Half the artists are incapable of singing live.  Highlights for me were Foo Fighters and Chillis and I also think Spinal Tap need shooting after that completely bizarre performance.

Most of the artists took the piss out of global warming anyway and Duran Duran thought they were there for a celebration of music!!!!!!!!!! :-))(

It's all becoming a bit overkill imo. Live Aid 20 years ago which is fair enough, then nothing really 'til Live 8. Then the Diana thing, and a week later we're being told not to leave the tv on standby.

The amount of people that went and put the kettle on when James Blunt played probably cancelled out the whole point of the fucking thing anyway.

Yep. Spinal Tap were hilarious. But from what I've heard from friends, quite a lot of people missed the point.

I'm watching it now on the bbc website. It's definitely how I expected to to be, mock English accents and all.

Spinal Tap was and will always be amazing... I'd imagine many watching didn't "get it" and therefore deserve an almighty WHOOOOOOOSH.

Tis all a bit hypocritical, getting everybody to turn of their tellies for the afternoon would have been better instantly.

Unfortunately, we live in a society where world news and events = Who's looking fat in heat magazine, that pretty blonde toddlers gone missing and somebody got kicked off big brother.

Some people aren't going to take any notice to stuff like this unless you have loads of their favourite celebrities telling them stuff in big over blown events that they can feel apart of.

That said, it is getting event a bit like event overload. What the fuck was the Diana concert for? Remembering a lady who spent her time sleeping around and travelling the globe instead of looking after her kids. Oh wow she touched some people with aids and had a nice smile that old middle class people like to put on plates. Were they trying to bring her back to life  by channelling the motions of strange people through Elton John? That would be ace. Zombie Diana! Did it work?

I didn't watch Live Earth because of being at work, recovering from my sixth form prom, and the fact it was bound to be crap! And I agree about the whole celebrities in jets thing, kind of contradictory and hypocritical! Although Arriba's point about the chauffer driven limos? The fact they are paying somebody to drive them doesn't harm the enivronment, and the fact they are in one ar instead of all driving their own is actually helping the environment!
