Incase anyone lives around or near town and can't be arsed to drive up there, from the official site.

Its just a shit car park, can be a bit of a squash - nearly saw a couple collisions last time.

More worried about the sharp bushes scratching my car to be honest as black isnt great for scratch marks.

Im just hoping theres not too many boy racer wannabes with their 'over tampered with' cars and abysmal driving skills.

Hooper will be a football league ref without doubt.  He reffed me once when I played for Bromham and word of a lie it was a pleasure.  He was only about 18 at the time but he controlled the match brilliantly.  Good luck to the kid, he looks like a ref if you know what I mean.

Ian's about 35, bald head, muscled up, works at Honda.  Top bloke too.

I've been looking at Beemers Ash.

I'm thinking about the new style 3 series.

Either the new 330 or the 335

was impressed with most of the signings, Aljofree has a decent left foot and switched play well, easton did well in the middle some good battling and probing balls. hard to tell against the opposition though. As mentioned comminges looked fairly good especially going forward and should be good competition.

Shame about the extent of the changes at half time but to be expected i guess

With a bit more skill he'd be bloody ace.

Thought Aljofree was pretty ropey and has a big mouth on him for no apparent reason.

The Miguel chap could be good for a more attacking option at RB.

Pook was gash.

Sturrock made some good runs, touch and finish let him down.

Big bloke up front found himself in the right place for 2 goals. Maybe because he stayed central rather than run to the wings like our other strikers.

Sofi needs to practice crosses.

Roberts had a good game.

Not quite sure who the young kiddy on the right was but looked alright, Comminges as mentioned was the shining light from the newbies, and Jesus looks comfortable. Neither of the trialists were particularly special, but the second one, Guillermo or something, looked a handful.

I liked the look of Blackburn at the back. Looked very solid was very vocal and composed. Also thought that number 12 dude on the right looked pretty handy. Comminges could be useful as well. Easton looked like he had lots of energy and went box to box a fair bit, wasn't afraid to challenge for the ball either. Not sure about Aljofree just yet. Pook was crap and that number 9 was a donkey on roller skates but somehow managed to find the net twice from being in the right place at the right time.

Does anyone know who that number 22 up front in the second half was?

Thought the new right back we had was very good. Smith may have trouble keeping his place if this french chappie continues like this.

The first trialist huffed and puffed but did very little else. The second half trialist didn't run around as much, but was in te right position for his two goals. Like Mr Parkin used to do....

Jake Hyde did good, as did the second half wingers. Apart from that no-one really impressed.

Blimey just goes to show how different people can see the same game differently.  I thought Aljofree looked alright after the first ten minutes.  Ifil looked good, Vincent and Easton very vocal and very solid.  Blair and the other striker in the first half linked up well,  Zaboub's final ball was disappointing on too many occasions.  Peacock worked hard, Roberts played well.

Second half was a very good display from a young side.  Brez looked a little shakey, but that will come, some of the young lads (not sure of their names, 12, 22 for example) played very well, thought SS might try and put them under pressure but they looked a class apart. Gilermo (9) looked good for a target man, nice first touch, right place right time for goals, and he took his chances.  Chris Allen looked better than Pook (Allen has only had 1 and a half's day training due to a virus btw), nice footballer, couple of decent runs from deep, nice free kick too.  Pook looked a little out of sorts, couple of decent tackles but that was about it.  Blackburn looked good enough, expect him to be back up to Ifil/Aljofree at start of season, but will make impression when he gets his chance.

Overall a encouraging start to pre season.

-Ajolfree has a decent left foot
- Blaaar sturrock makes good runs but lacks skill when he gets onto the end of them
-Thought the minge looked quality at right back.
-2nd half no 12 was livley.
-Thought the 1st half trialist had more talent than the 2nd half trialist. If he hadnt of scored 2 tap ins i think most people would be slating him.

Isn't that the point of being a striker?  Duncan Shearer used to do nothing in games then pop up and score the winner.

I am in no way comparing portugeezer with Dunc though.

I cannot believe the different opinions.  I thought sofi looked good, also roberts! Sturrock is great at runs but get a bloody left foot!

Both new strikers were different but very hard to tell at that standard!

No 12 in the second half was quality and better than shakes.  The new right back looked class and could do a job.  Both new centre backs were solid.

Pook shouldnt be given a new contract, fuck him off now, shame as hes a local lad but we have much better.

I thought he had a good touch, liked to get the ball down, was playing in a youthful side.  if he played the first half where he could have got the ball down to Roberts, Peacock, Easton, Zaboub (despite he lack of killer ball), he may have looked a lot better.  True about his finishes, but they did go in, unlike trialist no.1's efforts (apart from offside attempt).

As for Zaboub his general game was was ok, but his crossing was awful, hit first man on numerous occasions, out for goal kicks on a couple of occasions, well past far post.  None were spot on.

Zaa boub did alright, some of his final balls could have been better, but I think Lapham did a good job on him to be fair.

didn't go last night.but one thing is glaringly obvious to me.pook will never win alot of people over. some are waiting for him to do the slightest thing wrong so they can slate the lad.
people booing him when his name is announced is fucking pathetic.
people did it on the last day of the season in a game of massive importance, and allegedly last night aswell.
centre mids seem to bare the brunt of the abuse at swindon from supporters.sometimes playing that postion is a thankless task.

but, he was really quite poor last night, despite the level of opposition.

He should have the been the leader in a midfield of whatever his name is Macklin, Allen and Rigley - yet he was easily the worst of the 4.

I agree some people jump on his back for nothing, but every time soneone jumps on his back some people stick up for him....just because....

He wasnt good last night at all....a supposed League One midfielder should shine against Supermarine

Exactly. In such an inexperienced midfield, he should of been expected to shine. Instead he was probably our worst player of the 22 that played for us.

I wouldn't judge him too harshly though, seeing as they've only been in training for a week, and its the first game for over two months. But he will have to improve, thats for sure

maybe sensing a dislike for him from the crowd holds him back?ie not taking risks and doing ambitious things.
i know he has limited talent, but i'm convinced alot of the stick he gets is undeserved.he is nowhere near as bad as some make him out to be.

I agree we haven't seen enough of him to judge for this season yet but considering Rigley has only just come back from injury after 5 months he looked far superior to a player who fitness in comparison should be far better.  I don't dislike him however I don't think hes good enough for league 1.

I agree, however last night was one of those games where he did deserve the stick.

then he ought to move on and prove himself elsewhere.

he was anonymous last night against non-league opposition and i say that as someone who has defended him fairly often.

I thiught he had a great game at boston away last year, if he played like that each week he would be class but he doesnt, its more like 1 in 20 which to me means he will never be more than a non league or league 2 player.

With Easton, Peacock, Adams all battling it out for centre mid, I just can't see Pook getting into the side this season. Nothing against the lad, just the way I see it.  Which is good news for town, means we're progressing.

Like others have said in that midfield he should have stood out, but he didn't.  Ridley just back from injury, Allen has been ill all week and only trained last Monday and yesterday morning, Macklin? No experience whatsoever at first team level.

Yes don't criticise the bloke for nothing, but don't defend him for the sake of it.

On a side note perhaps people going on and on and on and on and on about "the rock" doesn't help his image, on this site at least.

Some of, if not most of the stick he gets is undeserved. The thing is, i want to give him a chance but the amount of stupid things he does is worrying, mainly misplacing simple passes and running around like a headless chicken.

He may be held back by the crowd, but come on - Hes a proffesional footballer ffs!! If he cant handle it then he shouldn't be a footballer

i have to agree that at times his performances have been awful.equally there were games last season where i thought he did well.only for people to slate him big time.thats why i think he cannot win the crowd over.
look at alan young for instance, the lad had a 3 year deal and was rubbish, about 3 feet tall and was never going to make it as a pro.but the crowd used to cheer him all the time.pook is a far better prospect than him but gets slaughtered.

Well another player that that happens to is Roberts, he can play well and yet loads of people just slate him for being "lazy".

Even Vincent was getting stick last season for not being a decent footballer - just a steady eddie, despite being 2nd half player of the year (imo).

I highlighted that Pook was gash because he was our worst player. Now it may be down to lack of matches but he was worse than his usual standard (which I find distinctly average). Doesn't know what's going on around him, when he finally did he tried a 40 yard cross field ball that went out of touch. Allen was far better in the centre of the pitch.

Roberts I was impressed with. I've called him lazy before but the last two months of the last season he worked hard, so I've stopped calling him lazy. Yes he tried one too many tricks that didn't come off, but that's not laziness.

I wasn't really one who slated Pook last season, but I am from now on.

Last night he was awful, completely non-existent. Allen was easily better than him.

He doesn't look as fit as the rest of the squad either. I suppose going out on the piss every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night during the close season didn't really help him.

As much as i think Pook lacks the ability for league 1, i also think the crowd make him worse with constant  critisism.

Put yourself in his shoes. If you were trying your best at work and were constantly being bullied and harrassed would you perform better???

Happily for both the general public and me, several thousand people dont pay to watch me work, and essentially pay my wages by doing so.

This makes the situation somewhat different from being bullied and harrased at work

I thought the defence looked a little shakey in the second half, except Blackburn who played well.  Commingues (sp) didn't look great defensively, and nor did Nicho.

But it was only their first match back, and starting as a new 11 against a team that had already played for 45 must have been pretty tough.
