Anyone any ideas.

Going away for Easter weekend and two housemates have decided to have a party to celebrate.  Bastards.

Anyway I need to find some way of keeping my bedroom door shut to stop some pissed up half wit having sex with lord knows what in it.

No lock on the door though.  I thought perhaps some sort of wedge on a piece of string pulled from the outside might do but it seems like to much of hard work.

Wedge the door from the inside and climb out the window.....or failing that put a dead squirrel in the room about 3 days before leaving, by the time you go the stench will be so bad nobody will want to go in the room.

general protocol at uni for house parties is to gut the room of any valuable items, then adopt a come what may attitude.

if you still want to lock it though, what about climbing out the window after locking!? feasible?

you could just buy a skinny lock?

Top floor unfortunately and it's close to dead squirrel at the best of times.

I think I am just going to have to come up with some sort of elaborate wedge device on string.

Say to them in no uncertain terms that violation of your personal space will result in retribution of the severest nature......then put a hair James Bond styllee across the door,  in the absence of the 60's Brylcreem, gel will do and then you'll know if they came in. Well it worked in Dr No.

why dont u take ur matress off ur bed and put it up against the wall...then if anyone comes up they will think fuck that and try another room?

Why not take the handles off, pull the bar that runs through out, then replace the handle (remembering where you put the bar).

Once the handle is on and the door is shut anyone that tries to open the door will have no luck at all, unless they are equipped with a screwdriver, and the necessary bar used to turn the bit that holds the door shut, but of course it is unlikely that they will be so prepared.

Did that make sense, I know it works, because I've done it, just hope I've managed to convey the essence of the opperation.

Tom I think that's the one.  I got a screwdriver set for Cheristmas as well it will give me a chance to give it a run out.
