Title: Help Deciding
Post by: Ralphy on Monday, May 28, 2007, 13:11:14
I'm doing the unthinkable soon and trading in my beloved Civic Type R  :o

I need advice on what to get next.

It has to be as fast if not faster than the Type R, newish (no older than a year) and look good.

I've considered the following...

VW Golf GTi
VW Golf R32
Focus ST
Audi S3 (The new one but this is pushing the budget abit)
Honda S2000
BMW 3 Series Coupe

I won't even consider anything French so no Peugeots, Renaults or Shitroens.

What shall i get guys.

Personally I'd go for an L reg Mondeo estate (preferably red), but if that's a bit out of your price range then a VW Golf R32. Lush.

Vauxhall Monaro

Won't get a very new Monaro for my budget of £20k.

And it will cost me £100 to fill it up.

should have said what your budget was. I was just about to suggest a lambo

I would love a Lambo.

Only thing that puts me off them is their an Oxford car.

Their badge has a raging bull on it and most Lambo's are yellow.

No, give me a red swindon Ferrari anyday with a prancing Willie Carson horse on the badge.

Yeah easily.

Group 17 insurance.

Consider that i'm 26 in august and have 5 years no claims and a clean licence too!

Imagine what an 18 year old would pay on one.

I like them Sadieo.

Their quick, nice sound from the 5 cylinder engine but it's a Ford.

Thats the only thing putting me off.

Depends what you get Si.

My sister is 19 and just insured a new VW Fox for £600.

It's fucking slow as fuck though and looks shit.

What sort of car do you want? Hatchback? Saloon ?

Best small car you can buy is the Mini.

Basically a small BMW and drives like one.

Can't afford that. Going for a small hatch, probably spend around 3k. Not sure what yet, will have a look and see what I can find once I've got the summer exams out of the way
