Word Gets Around is brilliant, as is Performance and Cocktails. Then they kind of veered away from the real rocky tunes that made WGA and PAC good. J.E.E.P was pretty shite and You Gotta Go There To Come Back was an utter shambles. I think I've only ever listened to it about 5 times in total. What I don't get is Stuart Cable left the band because he didn't like their style of music, then as soon as he went they vamped up the rockyness again and released Language, Sex, Violence, Other which is a damn good album. Like I said, many years ago, they may have improved. The music wasn't pants, the performance was. Glasto does that to people though, I saw the Manics when they were at their peak and they were awful! Personally I think they are utter shit now. Saw the Manics too. I first time I saw them they were really good, the second, average. In fact all the big bands I've seen, seem to have fizzled out a little over the years.. Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene....
