Also there is rumours that the game will be "three times better on the PS3", I guess that means in terms of graphics?  Three times seems quite a lot, so will be interesting to see how it turns out

games on the ps3 at the moment are ported from the xbox 360 and its hard to port them onto the ps3.

but ps3 games are easily ported onto the xobx as its easier to programme so graphics should be the same and not much in it

the problem xbox might have is that it can only hold so much on a disk where as sony has the blueray and more room on their disks so the xbox version may not have as much content ie teams stadiums e.t.c.

im playing pro evo online for the xbox 360 at the moment and gettting my arse whipped big time

Pro Evo is getting as bad as fifa with it's slight changes every year. It's still better but surely the cycle of the best fooball game must move on again soon

I can't see there being a new football title that can topple pro evo in the near future. I've been playing ISS/Pro evo titles since the Snes originals and nothings come close imo.

That's sort of the point though, Sensi was considered unbeatable and then fifa came out ('96) not sure what year was the original but the invisible wall cheat and being able to do the fireworks when you scored was ace.

You have to admit that Pro Evo is starting to go round in circles of improvements. They've got the gameplay spot on for this generation of football games, and apart from the occasional tweeks they can't improve it that much. I'm convinced that there's the possibility  of something radical. Like the step up from sensi to fifa but the next-next gen jobby.

Funny considering that in the games that have been compared to the xbox360 the results have been neck and neck in terms of graphics.

Us Xbox360 owners hear that all the time yet some games are actually better on the 360.

Lets hope the online play improves, oh and that 18gig is just a load of rubbish by PS3 fans. That argument comes up with every new game.

as for cross-console gaming, there's a game coming out on 360 and the PC that can be played online against eachother, but i cant remember what its called  :oops:

I'm getting a sense of deja vu here. The age old Sega vs nintendo war. Back in the day anyone who owned a sega console would swear that their machine was the bollocks and were adamant that games were just as good graphically, etc, etc. when in reality the Snes pissed on it from a great height. Sonic the whathog?? Fact is you 360 boys out there (which is most of you i feel  :? ) you've got the sega console in the fight there fellas. The PS3's release titles are just basically straight ports from xbox360 games hence why they look neck and neck graphically. If you admit this defeat now, you'll be less disappointed in a year or so when the PS3 steps up to a gear the 360 won't be able to match.

Ben, i read on IGN.com yesterday that Sony have been caught TWICE using project gotham racing screen shots to promote the PS3 and gran turismo 5.

fingers crossed blueray goes the same way as betamax :P

reviews i've read have said the online section of the games on the ps3 have been none too impressive, as well as the actual system being a bit shit, alot less easy to use than xbox live.

I was reeling I hope you see. I've been content with sony's machines over the last ten years. Except for the fact i had to replace my PS1 twice and my PS2 once :twisted:  I'm actually a little concerned about the PS3 though, I know it's very early days but there's a few early warning signs. Blueray for a start. Why bring out your own format when i believe hddvd formats are gonna be the main big gun. Also, because of blueray (i don't quite know all the details), the uk release date was held back. Then when they finally release the machine, not only does it cost an arm and leg at rrp, but they remove whatever it is that lets you play your old PS1/2 games on it to save costs!! SONY!!?? This is Sony! not fucking bettys electrics. All a bit of a weak start for my liking. They have announced a download update so you can play 'some' old games now, but not everyone has the internet.

There's probably a load more issues i'm sure...

I still won't buy a 360 though even if the PS3 by some impossible happening, flops. Sony will counteract the teething problems. I have faith.

Dont get me wrong i expect to see an improvement in a years time from the PS3. We are seeing 360 games getting better in its life cycle so i expect the same from the PS3.

Yep true. I havent really paid any attention to the hype as it's the standard marketing/advert shite everything gets but, I will get one in the future. October sees the release of Grand Theft Auto IV and Pro Evo 7 so I can't really see me not forking out for one.

I've been a Sony man for many a year, from the days of the original PSX up to the PS2. Then Sony released the PS3 and it just didn't interest me, kept getting put back and then there's the cost as well. So I bought an Xbox 360 instead and I've not been dissapointed.

I'm looking into upgrading it to the new XPS700/710 now though. Depends on Budget.

You'd probably be best to hang fire until Vista improves a bit and also the directx10 games start coming out.

I bought a couple of XFX 7600gt fatal1ty graphics cards and put them into sli because it was cheaper than the directx10 capable cards and I'll probably wait until the games get good before I upgrade to vista and new graphics.

You going to bu a refurb again? I built my pc and now I've ironed out the problems I'm well chuffed with the performance.

vista is shite in my opinion, i think its too slow

I've not used vista, but you have to have a top notch computer for it to be any good I'd imagine.

they have duel core pcu's now and better performance. not that mine is slow anyway.

I've got my Intel E6400 overclocked to 3ghz

mine is 3.6mhz with 800mhz front & 2meg cache.

it has Hyperthreding enabled too. is this good or not. can't really tell the difference tbh

Hyperthreading is supposed to improve performance.

The new Intel chips have lower clock speeds but are faster than the old chips, so if you can get a Core 2 Duo when you buy a new machine.

thats what i was thinking with a XPS700. they come with duel core and also have x16 sli motherboards where as most motherboards only support x8 SLI

i used to be a complete sony fan boy, i bought an xbox about a yea after they came out as i'd been playing a mates and it was superb. after that, i very rarely touched the ps2, ended up selling it, and then i bought a 360!

dont get me wrong, the ps3 looks like a serious piece of kit, but you gotta remember microsoft have had a hell of alot of ground to make up after coming into consoles completely green, and with games like Halo, which i dont think any game in Sony's catalogue even gets near, they're getting bloody close!

Microsoft struck a deal for extra content for GTA and for the 360 to get  it the same day as the PS3.

ps3 will be better in a 18 months or so no doubt about that, but till then ill be quite happy playing my xbox 360 till they bing the price down of the ps3 to a reasonable price.
