Title: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. Post by: flammableBen on Thursday, May 10, 2007, 19:00:05 I love that place, it's mint.
Today I purchased Start Trek IV, VI and VIII for £3 each. Having bought II from play the other day, I've now got all the good ones. You can have a right rummage in there and normally find something cool. Just a bit of advertising for my favourite places. It's nearly as good as the Kent Road shop. That Kent Road shop has some ace currys in the freezer at the back. When i used to live in old town i lived just round the corner from it. I loved that place :D Title: Re: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. Post by: Reg Smeeton on Thursday, May 10, 2007, 19:46:49 Quote from: "flammableBen" I love that place, it's mint. You're right, sometimes you get a bit of STFC memorabilia, or general football stuff turning up in there.....the Prospect one on the other side of ther Road has some tidy stuff in as well.....I miss Victoria books, which was in Wood Street.....although I had to stop myself going in, as I invariably bought some old book, which I didn't really need, probably because it had good pictures in. That old bookshop used to amaze me as a kid. Just seems to keep on going. You'd get towards the back and then there was that staircase down, with the wall still lined with book shelves. Then you'd get into a basement full of more books. I wonder what happened to them all when it closed down. Title: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. Probably took them off to Hay on Wye and flogged them there.....Hay is one of those places sufficiently near to get a visit every couple of years....their Festival of Literature isn't a patch on Swindon's, mind. Title: Re: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. Post by: Reg Smeeton on Thursday, July 17, 2008, 16:08:06 Think I I may need a new screen the old site fitted in my screen quite happily this one doesn't...is there anything I can do?
I decided this because reading this thread, but not seeing any avatars, or taking any notice of dates...I read something and thought it sounded just like somnething I would write....to discover it was something I'd written...weird. Should have known it was an old thread, because FB had money to spend in a charity shop. Title: Re: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. Post by: ron dodgers on Thursday, July 17, 2008, 16:14:19 you need to turn down the steam vario-regulator three notches Reginald and remove the old pennyweight from the counter booble and relax in your chair with some brown ebony shag.
Job done. Title: Re: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. Job done. These computer thingys would definitely run better if powered by steam. PS...brown or ebony shags are always welcome. Title: Re: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. My mum sent me to the post office and I had some change. £1. Bargain. Was that you sat outside fB....looked a bit hairier than the last time I saw you. If I'd have known it was you, I wouldn't have told you to fuck off when you asked for change. You still wouldn't have got any mind. Title: Re: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. Title: Re: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Thursday, July 17, 2008, 18:35:04 stuff that I no longer need - It wasnt crap - it was mostly clothes - some still had labels on - a pair of Russelll and Bromley shoes too
Title: Re: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. Post by: flammableBen on Thursday, July 17, 2008, 18:36:41 I think they get annoyed when people dump a bag full of unsorted stuff on them, half of which is just rubbish. I had a conversation with the lady in Vic Hill shop about it before. Quite often if you walk past you'll see a couple of bin bags of stuff outside the door even though there's a sign up saying "please don't leave donations outside the door" or something. Normally on Sundays.
Title: Re: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Thursday, July 17, 2008, 18:36:58 when i was hitching round europe in the late eighties there used to be this bookshop in paris next to the notre dame cathedral, you could work in the shop for the afternoon and they would give you a bed for the night, the beds were hidden amongst the books on the shelves, was fucking amazing place.

Did they say? Anyway, textile banks are a pretty good way of getting rid of old clothes. Title: Re: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Thursday, July 17, 2008, 18:42:52 Yeah but some of the clothes were brand new - They are a bit funny in the Bradford on Avon shop - I feel like they look down on me - she just said they werent accepting donations or something - I think it might be cause she knows my boss - he found out they spent 20 grand on curtains for the old shop and made a complaint
Title: Re: Big Sue Ryder Care Charity at the top of Vic Hill. Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, July 17, 2008, 18:54:16 Why would you get rid of brand new clothes? Did you get too fat for them?
