Don't belittle my position. Because it's only a small place, most of the time there is only one chef working so I will be in charge of the kitchen at times. Happy days.

nah, i always end up cooking with chillies, whether an indian recipe or some random shit from whats in the cupboard

It'll be hard to beat some of the specials they have at the moment. The rare tuna steaks especially. I've only got to try a bit and it's amazing.

If you ever buy a tuna steak then I urge you not to over cook it. Have it like a rare steak. Lovely, it melts in your mouth.

My dad got made redundant, went into the property make over business for a year, then got bored and decided to open a Tapas bar.

It's doing pretty well, but it's pretty small. I cook a lot of the stuff anyway. But I'll be in charge of the kitchen at times now (I presume), which will be ace.

I'm going to wander round and have a chat with my dad tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

book a table on a weekday night before thursday. Weekends get mental and you won't get a table, unless you wait and get put on the table list. That can be sketchy at times as well. Mainly due to the waitresses giving table to the people they think will tip the most. There is supposed to be an official table waiting list at weekends though and I think it's going to be more inforced soon.

Tuna's even better when its not cooked at all IMHO.

Although a nice Ahi Tuna seared Rare served with hoisin & ginger sauce is the bomb  :wink:

Tis top Tapas in there - although I went to La asita on tuesday and it was 'tapas night' in there - pleasantly surprised.

Yeah I'm working Friday night. I'll be sure to hide in the kitchen more than normal. If they have any Croquetas which aren't cheese ones then order them and leave one, that way when the plates come back out I can eat it.

Can't book on Fridays or Saturdays, because it's only a small place their aren't enough tables and booking means they have to be empty a long time before. You might have to sit at the bar for half an hour but the bar staff are friendly and are supposed to keep some sort of table waiting list going. You can eat at the bar if you want. Lot's of people do that.

Just turn up. There's a good atmosphere and it's a good laugh

I used to be ace on no sleep when I was a student. Is going from 10-12 hours sleep down to about 3-4 a bad idea? I'm going to have to get some super coffee on tomorrow aren't I?

I have survived on about 4/5 hrs sleep a night for the past 6 months or so, and when I get chance for a lie in I cant

It's only tomorrow morning this week (probably). I should go to bed but I've got 2 more bottles of red wine and aren't really tired. I've only been up for about 11 and a half hours. Not really tired.

That reminds me, need to update my dad's website about this bank holiday weekends opening times.

Need to redesign the whole thing really, it's grown a bit beyond what it was meant for and has got messy. It was a rushed job in the first place. If I've done the website for a successful Old Town company then I should probably make it look good. Would be good to put on the old CV - it's pretty lacking at the moment.
