I want to see it as well but given that every film I've wanted to see in the last few months has only been on at arthouse cinemas, I'd imagine This is England will be no different.

I've been waiting to see it for ages to, checked all Swindon listings for next week showings and it's not on.

I have no idea how it works... Why is it not on in Swindon?
I just guessed if people go and watch it they'll start to put it on in more places?
I dont know if my driver will take me to Oxford!

Depends on the distribution company, as it's unlikely to be a large company there will be a limited audience and only arthouse cinemas will show it as the chain cinemas won't make much out of it. There's a German film out at the moment called The Lives of Others which won some Oscars but isn't on at the Odeon/Cineworld et al.

I'll go watch it with you Larwood 8)

What's it about?

I hate the cinema and all the popcorn chewing, Coke swilling shuffling talk-over wankers.

I might wait for the DVD.

Shameless copying and pasting.....

Set in a grim coastal town in 1983, 'This Is England' is the story of a summertime school holiday, those long weeks between terms where life changing events can take place. Over the course of the summer holiday Shaun finds fresh male role models in the local skinhead scene who take him in. With his new friends Shaun discovers a world of parties, first love and the joys of Dr Martin boots, the course is set for a rite of passage that will hurl Shaun from innocence to experience.

Personally chosen by the film director Shane Meadows, the brilliant soundtrack includes hits from Dexy's Midnight Runners, The Specials and Soft Cell as well as ska classics from Toots & The Maytals and The Upsetters. Also featured is dialogue clips from the film and a atmospheric score by contemporary composer Ludovico Einaudi.

I watched the other night on alluc.org - it was a pretty decent film... I thought the film had a lot to say yet failed to deliver in some sections - but it was a very good watch all the same.

i liked it when they smashed up the house in costume, chucked a brick out the already broken window and kicking the fireplace

*BUMPAGE*

Finally got round to watching this tonight. Thought it was pretty decent.

Some brilliant performances from Thomas Turgoose and Stephen Graham.

Is it wrong to want a suck on Smell's tits?

**BUMPAGE PART 2**

Watched this with Birdy last night, but was a bit pissed.

Just watched it again, fucking quality. Probably makes more sense if you were a teenager in the 80's. Like Reg.
