I go the other way on this. Irish people loads of non-irish people to celebrate St. Patrick's day. English people just suck goats at celebrating. Can't blame legal immigrants, illegal immigrants or asylum seekers.

I will be having some beers though.

I think one of the reasons that St. Georges day is a bit poo is that our flag sucks goats. We should design a new one. I mean 2 colours. Thats pretty lame. The Irish one is all ready 50% better.

Check out the bad boy flag of Venezuela for example.

woooot. That's 10x sexier.

I think it's something to do with the English public being too sensible to get excited about a patron saint that isn't English, never set foot in the country, and whose only claim to fame is the slightly dubious tale of having a bit of a dust up with an entirely mythical creature somewhere deep in the Palestinian desert where independent witnesses were a bit thin on the ground.

Why didn't England get their own saint instead of appropriating some Turkish bullshit artist?

can't completely disagree with those sentiments, but isn't the point of it not who st. george was but what he stood for?

The US (in general) get less paid holiday days than us until they have worked at a company for a bit. Guess that evens it out.

8 is pathetic, we deserve more, the majority of us working fucking hard and the odd day here or there isnt going to make much difference. the government needs to wake up and realise theres more to life than gdp growth and earnings per capita. It doesnt surprise at all that this country is always low in the happiness rankings. WE NEED MORE TIME OFF!!

If it is any consolation we get 35 days annual leave as well as the bank holidays, the Grand Duke sets how many holidays people get and everyone gets the same. I usually work bank holidays as I get paid 350% overtime rate.

I'm not really concerned how many days people get off in other countries tbh, as I live in England and am glad I do.

Loads of people bitch and moan about England, but if it's so shit, why are there so many people desperate to live here?

Paddies, Taffs, Sweaties, the're fucking everywhere!!
