Title: ticket office queues(again)
Post by: Arriba on Thursday, April 19, 2007, 11:17:20
waited 45 mins to get my tickets.and the queue was bigger when i left.
one fella serving,at least 2 people working in an empty shop, and grumpy picking his arse out the back office.

why aren't the shop people trained to serve tickets when its busy?
there are three windows yet only one was being used.its a joke.
this isn't a new problem either as it was meant to be addressed after the playoff year.
fucking better win saturday!

Our ticket office has been a joke for years - perish the thought of a massive cup tie when everyone needs a ticket - by all accounts season ticket holders can tick a box and automatically get tickets sent to them for all cup ties etc?  I like the Jock in there but the system thay have to undertake is so bloody slow and other grumpy bollocks is the most miserable chap alive - its the little things like this that I really hope improve under the consortium, the small details are what affect the customers and what do no favour for attracting fair weather fans.

I think the guy with grey hair is a friendly chap, ive never queued longer than 10 mins apart from Rovers.

Not really the staffs fault

It took 50 mins to get through on the phone lines this morning and then to tell me Stratton Bank tickets were sold out .. why couldn't that have been placed on the phone line while we were waiting?

I had the joy of queuing 4 hours for Brighton tickets in the playoff year ....... Skipped school to do it    teachers found out and there response was "did you have any spare!"  : :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

The white haired guy is a good enough bloke, polite and friendly and whatnot, the other fella is the rudest by far,  i being a student organised a day out for the guys which included a town game, there were 15 students, but becuase some of us live outside the town i could only get ahold of 11 of their student cards. Granted theres trouble with people trying to get cheap tickets, but he went on to spend a good 5 minutes writing messages on an envelope of along the line of "YOU MUST (underlined) check ID" at least 10 times on the envelop, whilst as good as acusing me of being a liar and fraudster. Then i had to collect the tickets on the day, they never batted an eyelid gave me the tickets and never said a word.

Your right, its the little things that count. Unless its a county ground policy of verbally abusing students who want tickets!

Answer is...the two in the clubshop are there because if some1 tries a runner with kit they need two staff. if one's in the ticket office serving people how's that gona help?

Bushey's right it isnt the staff's fault.

But i do understand what your saying, its my employee head that's talking  :D

Just got back myself, Stratton Bank obviously sold out now, and the Town End is busy, I've had to buy a ticket in a different row to usual  :o  there was also a Thames Valley camera crew sniffing around interviewing the fairweather fans. Needless to say I told em to fuck right off chap(ess) although she was a fittie.

Unless the Thames Valley TV lot were there for any groundsharing announcements - it seems that that whole episode is coming to a head pretty soon.

I'd say about 450 left in the Town End if seatbooker is any guide. Anyone wanting a ticket in that stand better get one today I think.

they were definitely asking football questions.
I did hear some dude say he'd only been to two games this season and someone else mention "since the Premiership" which is how I arrived at my fairweather fans assessment.
Don't think the groundshare was on their agenda though but she was definitely fit.

I wouldn't say that was a little thing at all. Apart from trying to attract major sponsorship to the club I would say making it as easy as possible for the fans to buy tickets should be their number 1 priority!

I do think it is just the sort of thing Bill Power will address come the glorious day. Sturrock wouldn't be happy if he knew about that - FACT!

True true, but I normally buy my ticket on the day no problems. Why should this be any different!!
Why is my holy saturday ritual being jeopardised for some so called "promotion clincher"? Why I ask you? WHY!!!
If someone is sat in my seat at the pub on saturday, I don't know what I'll do. Whats more if they're wearing a fucking plastic england hat I think I'll kill something

Totally agree - one might think ticket office queues were 'OK' but in reality if you're trying to do things around your working hours it's a real hassle - damn right about Luggy too - what seems a small hassle nearly got me late for work as the office isn't open til 9.00.

The queues are annoying but that's the price of success.  I do think they could get an extra body in there though.

I'm sarting to get worried now, look at the facts:

- Mansfield are injury ravaged
- We are on a good run
- It's a cheap ticket promotion day
- There's a bumper crowd expected
-  We could get promoted.

We're going to lose aren't we?

Are we fuck. Bring It on

Yesterday the bloke said they'd be relying on a large number of people to turn up on the day to get over 10,000.

Is he just telling people different stories to confuse us all or something?

don't even think they'll fill their allocation, they only took 2500 to Notts County for the promotion clincher, and thats alot closer

Agree, don't see them needing to go in the home end although I think they will bring 2500 atleast. Possibly a sell out in the home stands?! Can't wait!
