Is anyone else very concerned we're gonna fuck it all up?

I have this horrible feeling with us.

Yes....I have a bad feeling....then again mansfield are a poor team and have a major injury crisis....really we should turn them over 2 or 3 nil.

I am concerned....but we should beat them without too much trouble.

I think Franchise will slip up at stockport....i think it will be a draw....but they could even end up losing.

I just want to get saturday over with.

It's gonna be interesting if we have to get a result at Rovers.

End of the day its in 'our hands'. The only people who can fuck it up is our players. I think some players will be nervous. And I can see a scrappy 1 nil, but I'd be happy with that.

:? Yeh I do too. I can see us fecking it up because well we usually do but at the same time I can also see Franchise fecking up. They are not a good football team at all. Saturday is going to be so nerve wrecking. But I can't wait  :D

I reckon it will be one almighty struggle which will probably involve us going a goal down or even two. We will end up scraping a draw with the last kick of the game only to find out MK have sneaked a last minute winner at Stockport.

Or something like that.

Even if we don't get the required 4 points, its certainly not assured that Dongs will win all of their last 3 games. They have 2 tough away games, and they haven't been in the best of form recently.

At the end of the day, its all down to us. We've been fortunate in the last few games, and given ourselves a great chance. If we can't get promoted with a 6 point lead, and only 3 games remaining, we don't deserve to go up.

Anyway, going to Wembely ist such a bad way to go up ;)

I'm in a state of nervous aprehension, we've had a little bit of luck these alst few gaems and who's to say it won't continue.  This season we have done OK in the 'big games' even in defeat (like Palace), and there are some experienced players and coaches which shoudl be able to guise us home, I hope (crosses fingers, and continues feelings of butterflies).

In my 17 seasons watching Town I've seen only two promotions, both when I was pretty young, an dto be fair to 95-96 is was a foregone conclusion by about October that we'd be champions.

The play offs are even worse ARRRRRGH.
Ah what are we all moaning at, we've been through worse than this! We were relegated at bristol city for gods sake :D  And now we are in third place 3 points above Franchise who have possibly the most annoying manager EVER and paul sturrock one of the best managers in the lower leagues in charge of us.

....Thats probably why we'd fluff up :D  But I don't think we will. I do have butterflys.

The dongs will lose 2-0 at Stockport.

We'll completely outplay Mansfield in the first half then concede from a corner in first half added time.

Roberts will equalise 5 minutes into the second half, Le Beast will score a 35 yard screamer to clinch promotion.

I'm more in the mindset that I'm not happy until the job is officially done. Franchise' run in makes me think that there is every chance they will drop points - however if we don't match the Dongs on Saturday then it's going to get tense.

I just hope our stand out performance of the season where we destroy a team good and proper happens on Saturday.

Franchise won't win away at stockport and wycombe....personally i think they will draw or lose at stockport and either draw or win at wycombe....but they could end up losing both....no doubt they will beat accrington at home on the last day...as long as we win on saturday it's all over basically....i wouldn't fancy my chances of winning at stockport especially when you're in bad form like mcdonalds are...

If you look at the form table Mansfield are currently the worst team in the division (1 draw and 5 defeats from their last 6) and who is 2nd from bottom....... Stockport!!!  :?  They've hit a worse patch than the Dongs unfortunately!!

We're joint top with Walsall (4 wins, 2 draws) so bearing all that in mind I reckon we'll lose to Mansfield and Franchise will win, meaning it'll be squeaky bum time at Rovers!!!  :shock:

I still hope we put 4 or 5 past Mansfield without reply which should see us home with a better goal difference as absolute minimum!!  :D

I think Dongs will win their final 3 games 1-0, 2-0, 2-0  while we'll draw our 3 games, leading to us getting 3rd by 1 goal difference.

The only thing i have against sitting or standing behind the goal is you lose perspective of the pitch.

Agreed Ralph, that and the risk of rain.  For me 'if' we go up I'd kind of enjoy celebrating with the people who I watch my football with all season.  It will take me bck though seeing Town fans at wither end - all tehy need to do now is erect a fence and put the mansfield fans in the other half of the bank.

Its going to be great having Swindon supporters in the Bank :D  I've been in there once,our League cup game aginst Blackburn Rovers in 95/95,it was fucking brilliant[aside from Bodin missing a penalty right at the end though :( ]

Can't help but feel a bit miffed at all the glory hunters who'll be coming to watch though,i'll be moaning about it come Saturday i just know it :old:

Blackburn went 2 down as I remember, they were reigning champions and then Shearer just turned it on and was class.  My only bank experience was 92-93 Vs Birmingham 0-0 draw, all other areas had sold out and it later transpired that some tickets me and my dad had won in the adver for the main stand had got lost in the post and turned up about a month too late.

Yeah fuck the view. I'll be sitting in the CGH. They sell me Guinness.

Nah it was a great night,remember going two nil up aginst the then Premiershit champions  :shock: jumping on the seats and going mad,think i must have been 14 too.Me, my brother and his mate skived off school the day before and the day after, the game,God knows why suppose we just couldn't come down it was so utterly fantastic,well either that or we were just lazy little shits  :D

Think they beat us and drew watford away in next round, my stepdad picked me up from swindon and got me a maccy ds and watch the game then drove me home.    That some effort to ride my mother!

That was a classic game Finney and Alison put us 2 up then typical us went and blew it conceding 3, wasn't it a Shearer hat trick? think I remember thinking Shearer 3 Swindon 2, sick.

One of the best games at the county ground tho covered most emotions that day.  Really hope Saturdays going to be one of those games that lives long in the memory  8)

I was in the Stratton Bank for that cracker against Blackburn (the ticket design was an odd colour design!) - I was about 12 then - Got all the Blackburn players autographs because obviously that's the end they were warming up.

I was in the Arkells stand for that game, i think is 9 or 10. Shearer scoring the 3rd goal really broke my heart then. Really enjoyed that game.

Shame that Bodin missed the late penalty aswell. Great game.

Nah hottest game i've ever been to was Sheff Wed at home at the start of 03/04.

Oh yeah and that one! all the northerners were half nakee behind the goal!

It was so fucking hot.

I got out of dad's car (which had good air con) and it was like an oven door opening.

I remember that!! The CGH was packed and it was so hot i was sweating big time. Was not the day to be wearing a pale blue t-shirt. Sweat patches everywhere.

The townend was ace that day. It was like terracing. Not been an atmosphere that good in the TE since that game.
