Title: The Simpsons Movie Trailer Post by: flammableBen on Monday, February 26, 2007, 20:24:15 It will either be a return to greatness for the simpsons, complete shite, or somewhat mediocre.
Title: The Simpsons Movie Trailer Post by: Amir on Monday, February 26, 2007, 21:50:32 The Simpsons hasn't been any good for about eight years, the writers even admitted the don't have anything left to say. At it's peak it was one of the best comedys ever produced, but let it die for fuck sake!!!

Title: The Simpsons Movie Trailer Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, 11:33:31 They should have stopped making the Simpsons in about 2000ish. I actually get quite angry watching some of the new ones because they are so shit.
What they should have done at the time that it started gettting a bit rubbish was to have moved the show on by, say, 10 years. They could have left it like that for a couple of series then moved it on another 5 years every couple of series. That would have given the writers a load of new ideas for storylines. For example, Lisa could have got married to the wrong man and ended up stuck at home all day looking after the kids whereas Bart becomes a really successful entrepreneur. Maggie becomes a teenage rebel and ends up going on peace marches and chaining herself to trees and suchlike, accompanied by Marge who is sick of being a housewife/doormat. Homer has had to give up the booze and burgers due to yet another near-fatal heart attack......etc etc etc. But no, they carried on with churning out the the same old format and it became what it is today. Shit. Title: The Simpsons Movie Trailer Post by: flammableBen on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, 11:38:56 Quote from: "OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR" They should have stopped making the Simpsons in about 2000ish. Shit. They touch on all that in some of those future flash forward episodes. The one about Lisa's Wedding, the one about Lisa being president and Bart and Lisa's prom thing. None of the episodes are classics (although Lisa's wedding has some moments with the British bloke). I just think it should have ended, or maybe cut down to a few double length specials now and again. Title: The Simpsons Movie Trailer Post by: OOH! Well if I had been doing the writing it would have been ace 8) Ultimately though, they shoul have just knocked it on the head a long time ago - FACT! Title: The Simpsons Movie Trailer Post by: my-velocity on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, 14:56:53 I think after the movie that's it for the simpsons, they aren't going to do anymore episodes. With the likes of Family Guy, Futurama, and American Dad all on now it's tough competition.

I just occasionally catch it on FX when I'm flicking channels. Title: The Simpsons Movie Trailer Post by: flammableBen on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, 16:35:04 Southpark is my favourite now. It's evolved from something which was a bit one joke when it started into something quite good.
Family guy hasn't been very good since they bought it back, Didn't like American Dad very much. Wasn't there talk of Futurama following Family Guy in shows to be "un-axed"?. I think that has some potential left in it, more than the simpsons has left anyway. Never really watched much King of the Hill. Catch the occasional episode and liked it. Title: The Simpsons Movie Trailer Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, 20:04:11 I can see it being quite mediocre with a few really great lines in it.
I hope I'm proved wrong! |
