yeah, good trip and nice pub but shite performance, never offered a threat.

he'd been getting a bit of stick as his shooting was abysmal, then with 5 minutes left we get a corner, which he shanked straight into the road.

he justifiably got told to sort himself and he blew a kiss. this provoked another round of anger to which he ran off doing those poncy wrist waves, blowing kisses and mouthing obsecenities.

he stopped when sturrock said something to him.

my only worry now is sofi was utterly pathetic.

Aaron Brown also mouthed fuck off to the fans on the side when a ball slid under his foot and out to touch, after receving constructive criticism

Brown was wrongly given a second chance after running back to the Club with his tail in between his Legs when his trial at Donny went tits up!

After tonight i don't want the wanker putting on a Town shirt again, the bloke is a fucking disgrace and shouldn't be allowed to get away with what he did.

Zaaboub got his fifth booking of the season, so he's suspended for Saturday. Brown will be on the left wing again.

Well, not unless he plays Roberts out there which he has done before.

If he's doing shit like this he should be put in the fucking stiffs and told to fuck off when his contract runs out ... I'd rather we played anyone out there regardless of formations etc.

I've never rated the cunt. he's the atypical lower league fancy dan who sees players at a higher level on big salaries and thinks he should be up there with them.
well you're playing in the fourth division for a reason you little twat, you might have a little bit of a left foot on you and can put in the odd decent corner, but that doesn't mean you can do fuck all for 89 minutes and get away with it.
I get the feeling with Brown that if one of his wild 25yard shots finally goes in, he'll stand infront of the townend as if to say "see? I'm fucking amazing me"
he hasn't got the battle or the application and by the sounds of last night's nonsense shown his true colours, he never wanted to be here anyway, send him packing, see who wants him now.
that said, I'll unlikely boo him on saturday, it never seems right to me to be booing the great red shirt I'm afraid

good p[oint dave - I think I may have gone ballistic on the radio about Brown, what an absolute idiot. If I was sturrock I'd thrown him out - we don't need him at our club. He's shit and he's arrogant - I wouldn;t mind but he did f*** all during the game.

In saying that, I have to disagree with your zaabooub comment, thought he was quality when he came on?! Beat his man, tackled his winger (which is more than nicho did) and he offered a threat.

Brown is an idiot, i've never rated him, he's totally crap!!
If i was Sturrock i'd either sack him, make him rot in the reserves or make him train with the youth team, i would never let him play for swindon again, there is no excuses for what he done last night!!

All i can say is if he plays next weekend at Stockport i will be personally slating him all through the game, it's nothing more than he deserves!!

overall i think brown id a decent player.but after last night i dont think he can play again as the crowd wont forgive him.
i dont know what was said to him or what he retaliated with but he should have just ignored it.
he's his own worse enemy at times

I was under the covered stand 1st half right in front of where he mouthed fuck off to the fans who gave him stick.

He is truly awful and how he ever was sold for the kinda money he was, is beyond me.

I NEVER want to see him in a town shirt ever again.

This maybe on some other link, but I can't think of a worse away performance in terms of effort, commitment and skill level......but I'm sure they'll be someone out there who can? (I didn't go to Mansfield)

Fair play to Barnet, they're a custard pie outfit, but they showed us up last night.

We didn't fancy it, plain and simple. We were too big time last night, an absolute shambles. We need Paul Evans back, and fast. And peacock. and Williams. Vincent not good enough, shakes and brown not good enough, roberts must try harder.

I dont understand how he can ever play again now. He was given his chance after saying he was too good and he has blown it now. Not even an apology. I dont like booing our own players but i will certainly boo him and give him abuse after that. That was a disgrace in my opinion and I hope it his last game playing professional football and he ends up playing non league.

Scum!

This reminds me of Gurney a few seasons back post our 4-0 hammering at QPR. I remember Gurns made my blood boil at the time but in 'fairness' to him, all he was doing was, errr... offering a few Town fans out!

It's a sad day when your own players are telling you to 'f@ck off' and gesticulating along similar lines. I understood Beckham's reasoning behind his finger gesture to England fans (following the abuse directed at his kids). Based on that, can I play devils advocate and ask whether anyone 100% knows what was said to Brown to trigger his antics? I've read about 'constructive criticism' (which I find hard to believe from passionate fans watching their team lose 0-1 Away to Barnet!). Surely something stronger was said to spark this off?

you're right, I too questioned the meaning of that when I clearly heard the words 'you're fucking shit brown' which tbh, I whole heartedly agreed with. still, how many times has he heard that and not reacted? didn't see the incident with the corner at the end as I wanted to beat the mad rush before the m25 got gridlocked due to the mass of town fans

The only justification for that sort of reaction would be some serious personal abuse, i.e. racist insults or nasty wishes about his family. Anything else is fair game and deserved on his previous actions.

I'm pretty disgusted at the club's lack of an apology - he should be wheeled out today and be forced to make an official apology with the manager and board of directors publicly condemning him. After all, could he not be charged by the FA for this offence?

I hadnt even noticed him on the pitch until the corner right near the end of the game. Putting it straight into the terrace was more than enough for most of us. And the Town fans down there did go for him. I completely lost it.

I thought he did the wanker sign in our direction. If he didnt then I dont really care, because you could see he wasnt prepared to take any criticism of his inept performance.

If he plays on saturday I will boo him. Il slag him off on the touchline. I dont want to see him play again. I dont care what other wishy washy town fans think. Im not going to have that.

Off ye fuck Brown.

Brown sums up the modern footballer....only interested in the money and the image, and couldnt give a toss about the club or the fans who pay his wages. Ive nevered liked this guy, he is a very average player with a huge ego. In fact, ive grown to hate him and despise the fact that he is playing for the club i love. The way he struts around the pitch doing fuck all really pisses me off. Its time for us fans to tell him exactly what we think of him. Support the team 100% but whenever that fucker touches the ball boo him to hell. that is all.

If he didn't have any previous then you might just about be able to forgive him.  What a knobhead.

Unfortunately, seeing as our squad is paper thin, we'll probably have to witness him pull on the shirt again before the end of the season.

well in spite of the comments about new players being brought in (.. Leon Best - I mean thats NEVER going to happen! - ) .. we have gradually got rid of players until we have a paper thin squad. Now the current holders of the shirt know they can do anything they like and still be in next week, Brown being a classic example. What's the betting he still makes the squad for Satuday .. though even I would be surprised to see him start

I think you may be surprised about Leon Best - but that's a different story.

Of course Brown will still be in the squad on Saturday, there's nobody to take his place, but I don't expect him to start - Zaaboub will.

Fatbury, you really are a first class penis.

Look at other squads in league two.

With the exception of those clubs that have had a cash injection, our squad is one of the largest.

At the moment we've got 5 (Or 6) players out injured.

As for 'the current holders of the shirt being able to do what they like' that's more bullshit. The midfield has changed almost week on week. As for up front, those that were demanding Lukas be given a chance got their wish on Saturday and Tues and didn't we miss Peacock!

Don't agree with that. There's no excuse for them  getting involved in tit for tat idiocy... Absolutely ridiculous.

I also don't agree that he should be forced to make an apology. He should make one of his own accord, if he so chooses. Although, someone ought to advise him of the foolishness of not apologising. Being wheeled out by the club to make a forced apology would mean nothing.

Title: aaron brown must never play for us again
Post by: sonic youth on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 10:57:35
A forced apology is better than no apology at all, what's the point in totally ignoring the situation which he's created for himself? I'd like to see him come out and apologise off his own back but there's absolutely no chance of that happening.

Regards to fatbury's point, he makes a fair case. We've thinned out the squad to such an extent that we've got little competition for places and whilst injuries are unforeseen and unfortunate you should at least accomodate the possiblity. Even without any injuries and suspensions our squad is fairly small.

It's all well and good threatening changes but it just looks silly when there's nobody waiting in the wings.
