Title: Lukas Post by: STFC Bart on Thursday, February 15, 2007, 09:12:22 Anyone see Sturrocks come and get him plea in the adver last night.
Obvious they are gonna sell to pay off their debts (AGAIN). Sturrock is in with the board if you ask me Title: Lukas Post by: WorcesterRed on Thursday, February 15, 2007, 09:34:10 I will bow to other's better knowledge but I have yet to see what all the fuss about Lucas is.
I am sure that he has excelled at a more junior level but in the games that I have seen him play at senior level, he has looked well out of his depth. He might have a lot of potential but as far as I can see, that's all he has got - he may OR MAY NOT fulfill that potential. I expect to be criticised for this post!!!! It is clear that he is very strong and athletic, but he doesn't have any pace - which is what you need to be a premiership player. I doubt he will get any quicker but his awareness and ability & to read the game and become more 'experienced' will only come with playing matches. Watch this space is the phase I believe Title: Lukas Post by: mattboyslim on Thursday, February 15, 2007, 10:00:43 I also agree, he has potential - but he didn't stand out in the yoof mtch as I expected, and I know he's young but seems to look very laboured at an early stage in matches. Serious talent, but at this stage a million miles from the premiership.
Title: Lukas Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Thursday, February 15, 2007, 10:37:40 The World has gone mad - FACT!
We're talking about Premiership clubs watching Lukas (well Sturrock is anyway) when he has done absolutely sweet FA for us. That is not his fault and I'm not having ago but let's take things one step at a time! 1. Let's see him actually starting on a regular basis. 2. Let's see him scoring goals for us on a regular basis. 3. Let's see him do this for two or three seasons, helping us get a couple of promotions in the process. Perhaps then we can all start talking about a big club coming in and paying silly money for him. Until then he has a hell of a lot to prove. Title: Lukas Post by: DV on Thursday, February 15, 2007, 17:34:32 he was crap on Monday anyway.
Still, its about time he started in our first team....and for those who doubt him - WALSALL AWAY! Title: Lukas Post by: JOHNNY REEVES on Thursday, February 15, 2007, 18:15:11 like most of you say he does have potential but at the same age paul rideout was a million miles ahead.he needs regular starts and a couple of years before we can see how good he can be,get us some goals lucas. :beers:
Title: Lukas Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Thursday, February 15, 2007, 18:44:07 the only way i can see him leaving is if the board say "yeah we'll take any check that is offered to us with glee"

This is how it works now, big clubs poaching youngsters off smaller clubs just incase. Capping us off at the knees. Jermaine Pennant and Lee Bowyer were the start of this in the late 1990's. Lukas J does not suprise me one bit. He didnt put everything into the youths this season, but he was still the best player in that side. He and Caton are the only decent players weve produced from the youths in the last 5 years (since Mildenhall and Sol Davis), and its not as if the youths havnt had plenty of opportunities with the board running the team down. Also disagree about Lukas not having pace. Utter bollocks. Title: Lukas Post by: migzy on Thursday, February 15, 2007, 20:23:03 Weren't Caton and Lukas taken from Southampton - I know they've both been here a while but I wouldn't call them products of our youth set up.
Title: Lukas Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, February 15, 2007, 20:28:44 Use the force Lukas
Title: Lukas Post by: sonic youth on Thursday, February 15, 2007, 22:18:48 I hardly think Sturrock is going to be trying to flog his players on behalf of the board, that's a fucking ridiculous suggestion.
As for Premiership clubs being interested in Lukas? Fuck me, what a shock! I'd never have predicted this! |
