I can't down beer, it gets me too bloated and if attempted, may force a tactical chunder 15 minutes later. That said, this is nothing compared to walrus' predicament

if like me, you find yourself waiting at the bar too long, and the cheapest lager on offer is carling, add a double shot of vodka to the mix. it actually tastes a lot nicer and gets you pissed quicker.

Like Piemonte2 I can drink a fair amount of beer when i'm just drinking quickly, but ask me to down a pint and I'll get about 1/3 of it down then sort of stop.  :oops:  It's not great. A pint of water is easy, as is almost anything that's not beer/ale/cider, so it's not an inability to actually chug it down... Maybe it's psycological? My dad used to make me down half a pint of brandy when i was small to try and get me to bed early... Could be that?? Hmmm. :?

About 8 seconds for me to down a pint, I only do it when I' ve got to leave/get somewhere quickly though.

I have no problem with drinking vast amounts of stella on an evening out, but I also suffer from the apperent inability to actually poor a whole pint down my throat.
Seems a bit of a waste anyway. Especially when a pint of stella could have just cost me nearly £3 that I don't have. Bloody extortionate prices.

I can only down about half of a lager, but I can manage a proper pint of bitter not probs

it's the gas in lager. bitter tends to be fine

As a thin man, I prefer the Paul Merson style of downing one pint of cider and one pint of lager, not so much downing just having a pint in each hand and drink drinkn drink til both pints are finished.  I can down pints though, it's just not very enjoyable.

Any of you guys still at uni should join some sort of sport club, I was in the hockey club at uni, I never played but joined because most of my mates were in the club.  On social nights (wednesdays and saturdays, plus any impromptu sessions) they used to drink hellish amounts of snake-bite and black.

The club that drank the most snakey-b on a wednesday night would be rewarded with a watering can full of the stuff, remarkably we, an 11 man strong social managed to win it most weeks, beating stiff oppostiton such as the rugby club (usually twice as many of them).

Naturally under this sort of pressure one learns how to drink a lot very quickly.

So to the moral of the story - I can down a pint in under three seconds!

three seconds, bravo!!!  It'd take me around 15-20 seconds I reckon.

I can down a pint of Wadsworth 6X like nobodies business, but lager is a no no. Also applies to Cider.

"snakey-bs" are a lot easier to drink. i haven't drunk a pint of snakebite & black since my first year exploits i don't think

As a kid (14/15) I could down a pint of squash in under 3 seconds (we used to have races), could somehow take massive gulps and literally pour it straight down. Strangely cant do it anywhere near that quick now . :roll:

Agreed, but I can also translate my power to necking pints of lager, Guiness is one of the easiest things to neck

I can't down the black stuff, way to heavy for me.  I do like drinking it slowly though.  i can make a pint last three hours.
