Its dog eat dog in politics and not pretty. Hillsborough and terracing in football grounds has always been a strong topic for discussion so they know this will turn heads and play on it if they have to. Not saying its right or wrong though.

Inside the ground, yes. They aint stupid. Standing (yes even safe standing) at football would increase trouble inside and out of the grounds. Especially in the top flight. Thats my view. It would make games more heated, more passionate. Plus it would be even easier for the ticket counterfeiters. Even more fake tickets at top flight games. At the moment its mainly limited to when the likes of Man United/Spurs/Liverpool are away (ie guaranteed everyone standing up, all game). If standing came back to home ends, with prices as they are, the amount of forged tickets would go through the roof. That means greatly reduced security.

Just between you and me. I want standing back as much as anyone. But Im not kidding myself.
