On another note, Dexter Season 2 starts tomorrow 8) Title: Heroes (TV Show) Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, September 30, 2007, 01:35:18 I got bored after about 10 episodes because it seemed to be taking it's time getting anywhere. Not enough interesting happenings each episode made me stop watching.
And I like Lost. Not enough interesting happenings each episode made me stop watching. And I like Lost. Never watched Lost either. Give me a reason to watch that? Title: Heroes (TV Show) Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, September 30, 2007, 02:11:36 Lost just sets up loads of completely bizarre mysteries. Then gives you answers to some of them, but with the answers you get more mysteries. It's like a web of mysteries with lot's of clues and running themes but never giving you enough to completely solve it.
Sometimes it takes it a bit far, because it's set on some mystery island which shouldn't really exist it can get a bit contrived(right word?) at times. It's not like they set up their own story rules and then break them in weird ways (Like the Hallow Wand in the last Harry Potter), it's more that they don't really have any. But that's sort of part of the set up. It's good, although to be honest I haven't kept up with it. I'm planning a marathon catch up at some point, it's a higher priority than heroes. Title: Heroes (TV Show) Post by: pumbaa on Sunday, September 30, 2007, 02:26:05 Hmmm, sounds like I might like it then. I'll hunt out the first Episode.
Problem is I've got 2 series of Stargate Atlantis, about 10 eps of House S3 and a six seasons of 24 on the agenda.....plus some other stuff.....crap, i need to be unemployed or take lots of sick leave.... Title: Heroes (TV Show) Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, September 30, 2007, 02:33:58 The one thing I'll say is that it's very character driven, and with lot's of characters. There's sort of a central few, but each episode tends to concentrate on a few characters and how their past is linked with other islanders and how it's affecting their life.
It sort of works on a double edged thing, you know more about the characters pasts and how it's related to the island and the other characters. Yet the island is left as a mystery about which you get slowly drip fed. Sort of like a reality TV show where you're told everybody's pasts but don't know what's going to happen to them, but they give you some clues to guess why it's going to happen and you can try and guess. And that pretty much sums up lost. |
