Well done Iffy Onuora... Hopefully it'll come into fruition.

hate to say it, but it's more down to someone else. Iffy ddn't want to sell, it was taken out of his hands.

Whether it's a point of credit for our Greek friend or not is debatable - sell-ons are hardly rocket science pretty much standard in any transfer now. Can't believe there's not better out there for £300k, but he does do a certain job that a lot can't.

aren't sell on clauses usually linked to profit?  Didn't Mark D post some details about the deal on here not to long ago?

Well, whoever it is... As long as it's a good percentage... Kudos for once.

That's what I remember, back in the day when Joey B look like leaving Oxford we stood to make a nice chunk of all profit, which was actually gonne be good cos we sold for about £50K.  If fallon leaves for what he was sold at we miss out, and also loose any potential windfalls tied to promotion etc.

Oh come on, In his own admission this was one of Mike D transfers (the best in the league IIRC)

The man is a god !

It will almost certainly have been Mike D who negotiated the sell-on and credit where its due to him for that. What isn't clear is whether any sell-on would be as a %age of profit, which is the usual thing. If so, we get nowt from a 300k fee, but we'll see, eh?

It's normally a % of any PROFIT only....so we've made bugger all.

Well, normally yes. But it may not be in this case - let's wait and see before jumping to conclusions

To be fair though we made plenty of pound notes when we sold him in the first place. £350k for a one trick striker who had only performed for half a season, not bad business, if we dont get anything from the sell on so what.

Add to that Kev that he had only 6 motnhs left.  Compared to the Parkin deal we did really well on him (even if it may have contributed to relegation)

Like the Parkin deal - Ipswich sold at a loss, so no more money for us....

I said the day we sold our top scorer (Fallon) would be the day we were relegated (although to be fair the day we apointed Onuora manager we were always going to go down).
However having said that £300,000 for a player who could have walked away for free at the end of the season made financial sense

He's all set to sign for Plymouth later today or Friday for £350,000.

So £50,000 profit then. That's a nice £10,000 for us  :D

Swansea City have rejected a £300,000 bid from Plymouth Argyle for striker Rory Fallon.

Swansea manager Kenny Jackett has revealed that Argyle boss Ian Holloway tabled an offer for 24-year old Fallon last week but that offer has been turned down with Jackett keen to hold on to the big target man.
Jackett says he doesn't want to lose Fallon: 'We've had a bid of £300,000 for Rory Fallon from Plymouth and we've turned it down.
'That's it really. It's not a situation I want to pursue because I don't want to lose Rory. I'm just trying to concentrate on winning promotion by working with the players we've got and adding where we need to.
'Right now I'm more interested in my treatment room than the transfer market. My eyes are on which of our injured players are on the way back.'

Fallon was informed of the offer from Argyle, speaking to the Welsh press Jackett said: 'I told him there had been a bid and that I'd turned it down.
'It's a compliment for Rory that a Championship club has come in for him.
'But when I told him I'd rejected the offer, I think his exact words were: 'That's cool'.'

It remains to be seen if Argyle will increase their offer to land Fallon.
