Title: BDO darts is shit - OFFICIAL!
Post by: hansgruber on Wednesday, January 10, 2007, 02:41:11
Look at their shitbox averages:

Co Stompe            89.37
Martin Adams        93.18
Davy Richardson   86.82
Ted Hankey           88.35
Mike Veitch            90.69
Mervyn King          90.63
Shaun Greatbatch 79.71
Tony Eccles            85.38

Barney and Taylor both averaged over 100 for most of the PDC tournament.

Another reason that the BDO is shit is their referees voices. If I hear that camp bloke go "siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiixty" one more time I'll go mad!

That's pretty shit, I used to be able to hit 80ish pretty consistantly. It was the doubles at the end which used to fuck me up though.

Well yeah, but i'm sure everyone else in the PDC will be averaging about the same as 'The Count', 'Wolfie' et al.

It's just that the two best players in the world are in the same organisation, which is how it should be imho

PDC Quarter-finals:

Phil Taylor 101.51
Andy Hamilton 97.86
Terry Jenkins 97.32
Raymond van Barneveld 96.31
Darren Webster 95.13
Colin Osbourne 90.09
Andy Jenkins 89.91
Alan Tabern 84.42 (oh dear!)

be interesting to see how the BDO quarters match up, but I'm not expecting anything special. It'd be really good to see a PDC vs BDO "Ryder Cup" style event!

I'll be cheering on John 'Boy' Walton. Even if he is a Leeds fan :x

That's just like a Premiership club supporter saying league 2 is shit. They are right, but it doesn't always make it less enjoyable and sometimes more enjoyable.

I had a small bet on Ted Hankey winning the tournament at 20/1.

So quickly you forget that Barney was BDO for several years until recently.

Didn't forget. He was the only good player in the BDO. Glad he took up the PDC challenge even though it meant not necessarily being the best player around any more

barney shouldn't have even been allowed to take part in the pdc tournament.

i'm surprised phil taylor didn't bring this up during his long list of excuses he gave for not winning.

there's an agreement that players from one company can't leave and play in the other company's championship within the year after leaving.

did you see the darts awards? they showed barney's televised live 9 dart finish, it was absolutely awesome throwing.

That's got to be against EU law

I doubt it. You have to join an asscociation, probably best likened to some sort of club or society. If you do not meet the criteria then I can't see that being wrong, unless of course it's due to discrimination.

But you couldn't not let people leave the Premiership and play in Spain for example. It might be a "gentleman's agreement" but can it be legally binding?
