Anyone watch this? One of the worst PPV's ever surely. HHH injured his leg, so they had to end the match early, and John Cena vs Umaga was unsurprisingly awful.

Wrestling hit its peak in '99

Stone Cold was huge, everyone knew he was...

'00 was the year of The Rock (not Pook!!!!)

'01 was decent, but I stopped watching when Brock Lesnar was the next big thing.....which I think was 02??

Giant Haystacks was good.

And Big Daddy.

And Kendo Nagasaki.

And Mick Mcmanus.

Fucking yanks ruin everything with their razzamataz.......

What's wrong with wrestling at some shitty town hall, full of old dears in national health specs, hitting the wrestlers with their handbags.

No sense of tradition.....................

Hogan came back in 06 as well as every other year. Will be at this Wrestlemania too (April 1st for your diaries)

Lesnar debuted the day after Wrestlemania X7, which goes on record of being the best Wrestlemania ever (I watched it over the past few nights, Rock v Austin is still great). So best Wrestlemania was 6 years ago. It all turned sour after Wrestlemania 21, they peaked on that show with so many good matches and has been shit since. I still watch it though, there are one or two good bits.

Hans, my main man, I did record it, fucking dire weren't it? The only thing that made it interesting was the cool finish to the Hardy / Nitro match.
HHH blowing his knee was funny as you saw their team just explode in a ball of green-ness, especially when Tripper was set to Pedigree Edge and Orton ran in with a chair, and then just ran out like he wasn't there!!

Roll on WMXXIII, hopefully it'll be better than last year's shite :(

WrestleMania x7 wasnt the best one...

15 was much better.....and remains my favourite....

It all went down hill after HHH came back from injury and they he won the rumble, they pushed him as face despite the fact he wasnt over at all....then he won the WM main event by squashing Jericho. Shit match, shit booking, shit result....it was basically HHH Vs Steph with Y2J in the middle so HHH could be champion again....thats the day wrestling died...although HHH did drop the title the next month to Hogan

im not going to get into a massive debate about this but to be honest anything after 97/98 anything but average/good.

The best WestleMaina i my opinion was 9, in ceasers palace, double main event of yoko vs bret and money inc vs mega maniacs.

i cant be arsed to go into it, to much hassle

15 only had one match, yes Austin v Rock was fucking awesome, but there was nothing on the undercard at all. Kane v HHH was the only thing semi decent under the main event.

18 was utter shite, except for the spectacle of Hogan vs Rock.

9 is considered the worst ever in most circles, but since you don't wanna talk   (I've just looked at the matches, that was horrible, please tell me the stand out matches as anything with Yoko in was horrible and Hogan's matches don't count as they are all the same!)

17 had loads of great matches, Rock v Austin, McMahon v McMahon,  Angle v Benoit, Undi v HHH, TLC match between Hardyz, Dudleys and E+C, Gimmick Battle Royale and the Hardcore match between Kane, Show and Raven with the golf cart and all the backstage action. Plus Motorhead live :)

21 comes close second, Rey v Eddie, Money in the Bank, Undi v Orton and Angle v Michaels. Plus Motorhead live again :)

It all went down hill when Vince Screwed Bret Hart and let shawn michaels win the title i think at survivor series 97, and when Owen Hart died live at event. I have Wrestlemania 16 and 18 on vid anyone want to buy it. I think Wrestlemania 9 and 10 were brilliant so was Wrestlemania 20 when Guerreo won beat angle. And benoit beat HHH and Jericho and there was a ticker tape moment when Benoit won the heavyweight title.

Yeah, although I had no respect for him before that. Disgrace though.

There's live wrestling in Witney twice yearly, have a load of LDN guys there, in fact some of the matches have been on TWC. http://www.extremeworldwarfare.com/ Great fun :)

oddly looking back at 15 the under card looks awful, but I always enjoyed watching it....

For my money, 16 had a cracking under card. The main event could have been great...but had Big Show in it and Mick Foley....and HHH won.....Foley should have been Cactus Jack and he should have won

I lost respect for Vince way before Eddies passing....kate vick anyone  :?

16 had some cool matches, I remember falling asleep during Angle v Benoit v Jericho when watching it live, which was a shame as it was one of the best matches of the night. Only time I fell asleep during a live WM, and that was my first time watching it live!

Only 30 mins from Highworth, so 40 mins from CG. There's a bar there and just have a laugh shouting at them all. Flatliner got me in the ring the show before last, then ripped my shirt off. That wasn't so pretty apparently. Good laugh though :)

Jake the Snake: October 22, 2006 - TNA Bound For Glory: Jake "The Snake" Roberts was the referee for Monster's Ball and DDT's Raven!

Rod Piper:
November 17: Roddy Piper underwent surgery this week after leaving the U.K. tour early. It is believed surgery was due to a disc problem. Piper will be out of Survivor Series and a replacement wrestler will be named to the legends team. Piper not participating in the match where he and Ric Flair lost the tag team titles in Manchester, England was due to the intense pain he was in. At the time it was believed to have been either a bowel problem or kidney stones

Undertaker: December 25, 2006 - WWE Tribute to the Troops (Iraq): The Undertaker defeated Johnny Nitro w/Melina Perez..

from Wiki:

Blading (professional wrestling)

In professional wrestling, blading, is the practice of cutting oneself to provoke bleeding ("juicing"). Similarly, a blade is an object used for blading, and a bladejob is a specific act of blading. The blood in pro wrestling is generally not, as often suspected, theatrical makeup, but actual blood, and the scars borne by longtime pro wrestlers are real ones. The act is usually done a good length into the match as the blood will mix with the flowing sweat to make the wound look like much more blood is flowing from it than there actually is.

In modern North American pro wrestling, blading is almost exclusively performed by and on male performers; blading of women is extremely rare due to the risk of adverse publicity and the increasing use of female performers as "eye candy."

Typically, a wrestler will blade his forehead, often with a razor or other blade hidden in the tape covering his fingers or part of his hand(s). However, the wrestler always runs the risk of cutting too deeply and slicing an artery in the forehead. This has happened several times; in one recent instance, Eddie Guerrero did this during the 2004 Judgment Day PPV, resulting in blood loss severe enough to affect him for the next two weeks of shows. Perhaps the most famous such incident was a bladejob performed by Japanese wrestler The Great Muta in a 1992 match with Hiroshi Hase; the amount of blood Muta lost was so great that many smarks to this day judge bladejobs on the Muta Scale, however the Muta Scale is now out of style. The Mercury Scale has come into vogue after Joey Mercury was hit with a ladder causing a tremendous amount of blood loss in mere seconds at Armageddon 2006. Another such incident was during an ECW house show when a young wrestler known as Mass Transit forged documents and lied to ECW General Manager Paul Heyman about his age and amount of training. He then asked his opponent, New Jack to blade him. According to New Jack himself on the Forever Hardcore DVD he did it deliberately because he didn't tell him specifically what he wanted and because he plain didn't like the guy.

ok, so if it is real blood(still not 100% convinced in all cases) and they cut themselves.why not let the chairs cut them instead of putting their hands up and blatantly stopping the blows that the commentators say cause the injurys?
wrestlers causing their own injurys is ridiculous imo.what a pathetic form of entertainment.so called matches that are fixed, injurys inflicted deliberatly on themselves, and diobolical acting.

i also liked the way the two other wrestlers climbed onto the tables themselves at the end for more "punishment" :soapy tit wank:

These boys are nails. Check this out:

D-Generation X v Rated RKO at WWE's New Year's Revolution PPV will always stick in our heads for another reason - the guts of Triple H.

If any regular person tore a quadriceps tendon they would barely even be able to get to the phone to call a doctor, let alone finish a wrestling match in front of thousands of fans.

But that is exactly what Triple H did - battling through what must have been unbearable pain for five minutes to finish his bout.

Hans, they don't always blade, HBK had fake blood the other night, Orton's was real (you could see it dripping from his head). Head wounds don't just seal up in 10 mins. I don't actually think he blades any more due to being a BAC.

In most cases, a shot to the head would just cause contusion and not a cut, unless the chair was swung and hit the skin downwards. Most chair shots are straight on.

Sadly the WWE have turned wrestling into a farce. But there are still federations out there that want to promote the 3 good sides of wrestling:
1 - The art of wrestling - ROH, ECW before it folded.
2 - The escape from the troubles of the world (aka being a kid again) - EWW, most local British Feds
3 - Genuine hardcore wrestling with glass and bombs etc - FMW before it folded, CZW

HHH was only out for about 8 months - he was at Backlash, his last show before the injury was Insurrection in April/May in the UK (my only WWF show) and returned at the Rumble in Jan.
Plus it's a daughter they had

What did actually happen to Stone Cold?

he walked out because he was told to lose to the coach. He is now an actor.

He's been in and out for years with these similar problems. His last match as a regular performer was at WM19 against the R0ck, but this wasn't announced. Since this he has been a non entity sadly.
