Title: 6-a side footy
Post by: Bogus Dave on Monday, January 8, 2007, 17:44:11
Me and my mates were thinking about trying to form our own 6-aside team to play in a local league. Does anyone know where i could find out more information, or how much it roughly costs etc. Thanks

Try Football Mundial (http://www.footballmundial.com). They play at Bassett school on a Tuesday and Thursday night. Costs about £30 to join and then £25 per week.

I play in that league  8) - The standard of refereeing is terrible and when school pupils are on their holidays, they close the astro turf for aslong as the school is closed, although it is not owned by them, so some matches are called off, which sucks.

Apart from that, ace facilities and good fun.

Fat, Balding, Ginger Ref is ace. He just stands in the centre circle or on the touchline and doesn't move at all.

Then there's the other fat guy who think's he's fucking Pierluigi Collina or something.

Haha! Yup!
I hate the fat ginger ref. He sin binned me because i told him a player just cropped me........I didn't swear at him at all, just simply said it and he sin binned me for 3 or so minutes.....Cunt  :?

What team did/do you play for?
Was it that Real Fubar team? As i remember someone on here saying they play/played for them....

Yep, it was Real Fubar. We played in the last Summer League, didn't bother signing up for the Winter League - too damn cold!

Started a new league tonight at dorcan, was about £6 each to join and £4 a week, however last two games of season are free.  Was ok but we lost 6-1 but I scored which never happens, might retire as top scorer

Call up Dorcan and find out as may get in

I play at Bassett on Thursdays and used to play Dorcan on Mondays and Abbey Meads on Sundays.

Dorcan seems to have good quality teams, pretty serious for 6 a side footy.

Abbey Meads is good fun put I find the pitches too small for 6's.

Bassett is best i've played in but that's because the standard isn't so good and I'm shit, good fun, rarely any bad fouls but as said above the referring is poor.

All depends what you're looking for.

I played in the last Dorcan league on mondays. We got relegated on the final day by not turning up. Gay.

We're starting from scratch this coming season i believe.

I miss the Thursday night league at Bassett, it was such a shit quality league, I actually looked pretty good.
We finished 2nd I think in the last season.

I might have to ask the guy who ran the team to think about joining the April league

I got my invite back for the summer league at Bassett today. But all my mates who I played with last year have taken up the :guinness: and  :doobie: so aren't really fit to play.

Anyone want to form a TEF team?  8)

What level of professionalism are we talking? Does it involve chatting up birds in The Spot, taking them home and spit-roasting them?

I'd be up for that! My team have turned from good to shit........We're good defensivly, but our finishing is woeful......We miss on average about 2-3 one on ones a game......

Just for the record, i play defence, but can play more upfront, if needed.

Make it 1 mile and a diet of pies and lager and you've got yourself a deal  :D

(Actually in all seriousness I really need to get fit - it's embarrasing that I can only run a couple of miles at age 20 and my old man who's 45 runs 8 miles a day!)

I don't really eat pies all the time. The missus has me on a healthy eating plan at the moment. Fucking shitty cereal for breakfast, slim-a-soup and fruit for lunch and then always bloody pasta in the evening

You can't have a local footie side without fatties, stop being a twat.
At this rate you will be playing on your own

DV OUT!

I wish. Couldn't really my ezcema gets really bad after playing sports but i managed to control it. Back at school in my last year at dorcan in our PE lesson with mr needham we played 5 a side football and my team finished 1st and i was allowed to take all the pens and i did not miss 1.
