Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: pauld on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, 14:18:22 The "manifesto" (actually done in the form of a Q&A -inspired by Maverick!) is now online at:
http://www.truststfc.co.uk/fc_manifesto.php Hopefully this will go a long way to answering some of the very valid questions raised recently. Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: Summerof69 on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, 14:27:27 Excellent read.
Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, 15:18:52 Excellent. All we need now is a sea of orange at the CG over the upcomming games to show the board that we have no confidence in their ability to run the club! :beers:
Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: spacey on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, 21:56:13 I still feel there are some outstanding cheese issues. I'm not sure I can throw my full support behind a consortium that could potentially be overloaded with cottage cheese swilling nonces! Can you offer assurances that Mr Power and the other investers prefer a more muscular cheese that we can trust

Can you offer assurances that Mr Power and the other investers prefer a more muscular cheese that we can trust I understand Bill is partial to Red Leicester....which always looks to me to be orange. http://www.webplay.org/images/cheese.gif Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: pauld on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, 22:01:46 Bollocks. I knew we'd forgotten something. I'll check. He certainly doesn't come over as a cottage cheese sort, but as you say it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to judging a man on the basis of his dairy-based snack preferences.
Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: jayohaitchenn on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 11:10:38 Bill Power is a brie man I think. a touch of class

Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: Maverick on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 21:02:10 Thanks for giving me the credit for the Q&A pauld ... however it would be nice to get the answers to the questions I asked about who else was involved in the consortium and whether Bill & Phil were the major backers or whether there was a larger investor(s) also involved (and whether any of them are american!!)?
I would also be a lot more comfortable to see some explanations surrounding the points raised in the following pieces: - http://www.kilburntimes.co.uk/content/camden/kilburntimes/sport/story.aspx?brand=KLBTOnline&category=sportfootball&tBrand=northlondon24&tCategory=sportklbt&itemid=WeED18%20Oct%202006%2011%3A29%3A46%3A040 The full piece it refers to can be found at: http://www.alfretontownfc.com/qprcourttrial.pdf I repeat once again (before accusations fly!) that I remain neither pro or anti any of the publicly warring factions ... merely trying to sort out the wheat from the chaff in all the "snippets" that hit the public domain. I am merely cautious, as most of what I see/hear/read are the anti board pieces, I see little evidence of similar examination of the consortium credentials. I am a Swindon Town fan first and foremost, and I would hate to think that we were being asked to blindly follow an "unknown quantity". Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: pauld on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 21:48:20 Hmm, Maverick, your protestations of impartiality would be a lot more convincing if you applied the same tests impartially.
Where is your extensive list of questions regarding the two interested parties the board claim to be speaking to? Where are your demands to know the full backgrounds of our new chairman? Where is your demand to see the full details of the "five-year plan" the board spoke of on Friday? The consortium have been very open in establishing our credentials, demonstrably have the wherewithal and the business acumen to take the club forward, and have laid out a plan to do so, do not have a track record of deceiving the fans and are offering something more concrete than another five years of BS and misery. Can you say the same of the board? And if not, why aren't you asking these questions? Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: Maverick on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 21:55:38 pauld ... you miss my point .. I am not re-asking the questions that have been asked already of the board ... because they have been asked already!!
People will make their own judgements based on whether those questions are answered and how. Please please don't tell me that what you are saying is that the points I raise in reference to the Consortium are also to remain unanswered? Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: TalkTalk on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 21:58:45 Quote from: "Maverick" pauld ... you miss my point .. Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: pauld on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 22:01:13 They've been answered in the Q&A, other than the smear piece from the Kilburn Times which says precisely sod all other than smear by innuendo. And FWIW, yes I have read the QPR trial transcript. And had a long conversation with its author and several other people involved around QPR at that time.
And no those questions above have not been asked of the board re Friday's announcement, simply because most people don't believe it. So, I'll ask again, is it just one side that you subject to such forensic examination, Mav? Do you have an axe to grind perchance? JESUS THAT WAS A WELL CONSTRUCTED AND THOUGHT THROUGH RESPONSE! :P Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: Maverick on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 22:07:46 Et tu Fred?
Hmmm I had hoped for better ..... it seems that neither "side" likes questions! Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: pauld on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 22:07:51 Actually there is one question you asked we didn't answer on the Q&A because no-one took it seriously, maybe we should have done - No, no-one currently backing the consortium is American.
Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: pauld on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 22:10:59 Quote from: "Maverick" Hmmm I had hoped for better ..... it seems that neither "side" likes questions! FFS we've just published a two and half side detailed Q&A answering yours and others questions! And on the flip side, seems you aren't too keen to answer the questions I posed, either. Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: TalkTalk on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 22:11:46 Quote from: "Maverick" A personal response Talk Talk .... JESUS THAT WAS A WELL CONSTRUCTED AND THOUGHT THROUGH RESPONSE! :P Whatever. Here's a better constructed and more thought through response then: Why do you persist in questioning every single last detail/motivation/statement of the consortium? And why do you not publicly scrutinise the board (on this forum for example) about their actions? It's all one way traffic, pal. Which is why I said you are TEDIOUS. Cheerio. Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: yeo on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 22:14:11 Can we please refrain from personal insults we at the Townend are always polite to each other, if you wish to trade insults please stick to the L&P site

We would, however, welcome talking to any parties, be they American or green in hue, so long as they share the consortium's vision for taking the club forward and have the wherewithal to back it.
Do you think he'll notice I didn't say we weren't backed by six-foot lizard men? Or did I get away with that one? Sorry, couldn't resist. Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 22:17:12 Mr Trust Board, whilst I agree that Maverick is being a bit tedious, surely it would be better if you just answer any questions he asked politely. Whilst he might not be completely genuine or have his own reasons, other people who are unsure and stumble across this thread could easily take your responses as arrogant "we're right and you're wrong" responses - similar to what the current STFC board come up with at times.
Although to be honest, I understand why it's boring and I'd certainly not have the patience. Have you found out what BP's favourite cheese is yet? Getting Spacey on side would surely be a bonus. Title: Fans Consortium Q&A Post by: Fred Elliot on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 22:19:44 See

I want to know about Power. Lets face it Fred, when it comes to a consortium scale of importance Power is up there like a red-faced Darth Vadar, you're not even a Stormtrooper.......you're more of a Macdonaldsatron 3000 or a Netto droid. |
