The last I heard is that he wont play again this season.

I heard he had a fun birthday  :D

Phil Smith is thriving on his opportunity and it's about time (once Brez is fit) we have 2 adequate goalkeepers to battle for the No.1 jersey.

I've heard he is around 2 months away from being able to play again

I've heard he is recovering well but still likely wont play this season and there is no point in risking injury due to Smith excelling in the role by bringing brez back early.

might as well add what i've heard! the bone hasn't healed as quickly as they thought it would, and he's quite sure he won't play this season, and he hasn't seen a contract or seen anyone from the club about us signing him

According to my 'sources'   Brezovan is already back in light training and that he is moving his arm freely - He has one hell of a scar though, apparently (as expected)

Asked him after the Hereford game and he said 4 months, so we may see him in March if we're very lucky.

He might have thought you were asking him how long he'd been at Swindon though  :D

We shouldn't see him at all, for me Smith has done better.

Don't get me wrong, Brez is ace but Smith has been remarkable.

I am quite happy with either of them in the team to be honest! Both seem to love being here, both make saves and take crosses well.......

I would hate to be in PS's position to have to choose one when he comes back

It's still Brezovan edging it slighty for me. Phil Smith is a fantastic keeper, but Brez is just a little bit better in terms of command over area and rushing out.

Mildenhall and Fraser were on the books at the same time - and for one season, Talia was actually in bloody good form. Even saying that, despite the odd howler, Nicky Hammond had some stormers under Hoddle when Fraser was injured and (correct me if I'm wrong) kept Fraser out of the side for a short while.

In the Prem (trivia time) we had 7 keepers on the books throughout the season - Fraser, Nicky Hammond, Shane Cook, Jon Sheffield, Paul Heald....could've sworn there's two more somewhere.

But then we've had a first choice and a cheapo ever since then really, be it Jimmy Glass, Richard McKinney, Matt Bulman, Alan Flanagan...and that's probably how Wise saw Phil Smith, who's proved us all wrong.

I'd guess that if Phil gets injured, Sturrock will have another emergency loan up his sleeve ready to bring in so Jon Stewart doesn't have to play.

2 good keepers - and some of you might laugh .. but Digby and Hammond were both good keepers at the old Division 1 level I thought!

digby was amazing, so i partially agree with you

to be honest, I think Phil Smith has surprised just about everyone with his performances.

I watched him in pre-season, but he didnt look up to much and he didnt have alot to do (same with Brezovan) but since he's been between the sticks Phil Smith has been immense and long may it continue.

Stewart Kerr was another.

Hammond was fucking awful.

Smith has been ace., even if we dont sign Brez Id be happy with Smudge in goal

He's decent enough for this level and probably the next one up as well. A good shot stopper, good relexes, kicking is good compared to Rhys etc etc. Only fault is he doesn't come out and claim crosses often enough, but at least if the defence know this it removes the uncertainty.
