Title: ferenc puskas... Post by: sonic youth on Friday, November 17, 2006, 09:27:32 rip.
what a brilliant goalscoring record though... Kispest Honved (354 apps, 357 goals) & Real Madrid (528 apps, 512 goals) "Puskas was an odd-looking footballer. He was short, stocky, barrel-chested and overweight, could not head the ball and could use only his left foot. But what a left foot." don rogers? Title: ferenc puskas... Post by: Sharky on Friday, November 17, 2006, 09:34:57 Awesome goalscoring record, perhaps the best in the world, if not then its up there!

Post by: Scot Munroe on Friday, November 17, 2006, 10:34:09 Puskas for Real Madrid in the European cup final of 1960 scored four goal against Eintract Frankfurt to win the game 7-3. What a player with Di stefano as well. His honours speak for itself Hungarian league (5), Spanish league (5), Spanish Cup, European Cup (3), Intercontinental Cup, Olympics.
A true legend of football. Will be missed. RIP Title: ferenc puskas... I know that Don Rogers rather saw the winger Francisco Gento, of the great Madrid sides of the 50's 60's as being the sort of player to which he aspired. Gento was a true winger, taking on a full back crossing and laying on chances for Puskas and di Stefano.....but he also had the ability to score himself either by dribling through or shooting from range. Rogers like Gento was 2 footed.....of recen tTown players only Sam Parkin would fit that description of a player who sometimes you wouldn't know which foot they favoured. Title: ferenc puskas... Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, November 17, 2006, 22:52:37 I knew a guy who was at that infamous England vs. Hungary game - he used to always go on about it... I didn't mind listening though because it was a good story!
Puskas was a legend. R.I.P. Title: ferenc puskas... Post by: Tails on Saturday, November 18, 2006, 07:12:23 Absolutely phenomenal goalscoring record, it speaks for itself really. I've seen the game against Frankfurt but can't say I've seen much more of him, may have to go searching.
