Very little needs to be said about the biggest band in these parts, but in case you've been living under a rock for the last few years, here's a useful summary: "Belarus are purveyors of stunning, melody-driven, often epic songs. While recently finding themselves compared to the likes of Snow Patrol, Athlete and Thirteen Senses, the group have also gained comparisons with Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright and Radiohead. The band formed at the turn of the 21st Century and originally took the name Spacehopper."

Seven Years On
Formed from the ashes of Latitude Blue (supported Jetplane Landing and appeared on a Deep Elm compilation), Seven Years On aim to build on the handful of well received shows played so far to win over a whole new set of fans. With a diverse list of influences including Pavement, Stereolab, Fugazi and Ben Folds Five, they lull the crowd into a false sense of security with the sweet caress of a pop melody, before poking them in the eye with a riff shaped finger.

I saw Belarus when they were Spacehopper in the Apartment. I thought they were pretty good.

Have you been living under a rock for the last few years?! Belarus are the biggest band around these parts. Apparently they'll stab you in the face with their epic melodies and they'll Chinese burn you with their awesome riffs to the max! or something or other.

Belarus likened to Coldplay. Coldplay no liked by Yeovil Red. Yeovil Red on suicide watch when listening to Coldplay, i.e.Belarus will probably mak YR have suicide tendencies.

I.E. I hate YR he's a cunt and he needs to get aids or die.

Great gig. It's a lovely venue, here's hoping we get some really good acts on in there. Glen Tilbrook's playing in a couple of weeks, so that's a good start!

Not been to the twelve bar yet, but if its anywhere near as good as the re-done venue at the vic it should be good!
