Good experience in the lower leagues and seems like a bloke who would just get on with it.

What if we printed each word out on a piece of paper and sent it to them? It'd be like Bowie's lyric writing method. Seems fair to me. Title: FAO The Board Post by: fjortoft on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, 19:39:10 Why Sturrock? OK at Plymouth but did nothing at Southampton or Wednesday.
Title: FAO The Board Post by: herthab on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, 19:45:16 Southampton were in the Premiership. We're not.
Wednesday were in League 1. He got them into the Championship. He has been successful in the lower leagues with Plymouth (Who he got to the Championship) and Wednesday (See above). We are in League 2.....................Think about it............. Title: FAO The Board Post by: mr ian on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, 19:50:32 was he not in charge for about 1month at soton?
Title: FAO The Board Post by: fjortoft on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, 19:52:30 He didn't get Saints in Prem but will give you the Wednesday one. Just not convinced. But I don't have a better option
Title: FAO The Board Post by: Amir on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, 19:53:10 He was in charge at the end of the season Plymouth became champions and we lost in the play-offs, then was strangely sacked about 4 games into the new season.
Very highly regarded in Plymouth, and Wendy fans were singing his name Saturday. Two T's in Wootton! Thank you 8) Title: FAO The Board Post by: herthab on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, 19:56:36 Quote from: "fjortoft" He didn't get Saints in Prem but will give you the Wednesday one. Just not convinced. But I don't have a better option Not what I meant mate. Whether he was successful at a (then) premiership club is immaterial. It's what he can (And has) done in the lower leagues that interests me. I'm not looking for a manager to get us into the top flight, that's optimism bordering on insanity, I 'm looking for a manager to take us out of this league and hopefully out of the one above as well. Title: FAO The Board Post by: fjortoft on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, 20:04:11 Fair enough. I don't expect us to get to the Prem either and think that the Championship is a fair way off too. Just not sure. Sounds like the Wednesday and Plymouth fans liked him but I know the Saints fans didn't

Title: FAO The Board Post by: DV on Thursday, October 26, 2006, 16:57:04 Quote from: "fjortoft" Why Sturrock? OK at Plymouth but did nothing at Southampton or Wednesday. He took Plymouth from League Two to the Championship. I think he left for Southampton before they actually won League One but he did all the ground work and now Plymouth are an established Championship. My first 10 years as a Town fan I'd never even heard of Plymouth they were that shit. Then he moved to Sheffield Wednesday turned their season around, got them promoted to the Championship then kept them up the next season. Thats alot of acheivements in the lower leagues, more so than anyone else in the running Title: FAO The Board Post by: Fred Elliot on Thursday, October 26, 2006, 17:31:38 Quote from: "pauld" It's not the board you need to FAO - recent statements from the club made it very clear it's not them who make these decisions ouch meow :soapy tit wank: |
