Yet another club statement released on the Official Site:

Christ on a bike, are the club incapable of communicating with people without airing their dirty linen in public?

Christ it's like a fucking dictatorship.

Will I get a statement for that?

This is getting like managing the club via Football Manager.

"The board has indicated it is delighted by the manner of your latest win ... "

Fucking hell. Is Sega running our club or what? Give it a rest!

The club would like to state that Tails' comments that the club is a dictatorship is a direct attack on its backers.

shakes head and leaves discussions around this subject.

and yes, the board did say the bit right at the end, don't think anyone ever though the board were trying to harm the club so it goes without saying.  Not sure what this is being released for really as it seemed to me everything ended quite well at the end and the Trust et al have made it quite clear they don't currently have £3m sitting in a bank, they are merely trying to raise the funds.

Anyway, enough has been said.

These 'statements' are just becoming totally meaningless. I think the Board should have a nice big cup of shut the fuck up.

Oh dear, I expect SSW will read this and pull out of the club

Title: ANOTHER Club Statement!
Post by: Batch on Monday, October 9, 2006, 16:32:12
Batch would like to indicate that continual statements from the club regarding critisism of how the club is run shall from hereon be met with the rather childish but apt smiley

 :fu:

Any attempt to double stamp my triple stamp will be deemed a personal attack on myself and my advisor, the one that lives in my head and tells me what to do.

I appeal to the club  to do one decent thing and shut the fuck up.

To be honest and personally speaking I think the criticism has been fairly restrained considering what has gone on. They deserved criticism and they have taken some. But they still dont see anything at all wrong with the way the club is being run at the moment.

I can understand the Wills not having anymore money to put into the club. Therefore, we do need to find some sort of buyer. I think a fans consortium could provide little investment but better running of the club. Whereas at the moment we have little investment and a very poor running of the club under Dunwoody.

Classic tactics, get them in for beer and sandwiches, see the colour of their money then shaft them.

If we want rid, then it will need something altogether more serious.

If we accept the status quo, Confernce here we come and don't complain.

Absolute bunch of clowns, cant believe they came out with that statement after the trust, Rob T and the supporters club saying it was a positive meeting.  What can they possibly gain from attacking the fans trust, supporters clubs and fans in general.  As crazy as it sounds the only way this might get better is if they go...really think it may of come to this now  :x

Everyone moaned about the board/club not communicating with the fans, but when they do, you all moan! They cant win.

Is it harming anyone by releasing club statements? No.

I can’t understand why the club have waited until now to release that statement if they were not happy with the comments on the 28th.

Seems ludicrous to have gone to the trouble of mobilising Cliff ‘Peace Pipe’ Puffet following the Trust organised fan’s meeting on the 28th, had a ‘clear the air’ meeting on Friday, released a joint statement to work together and then go and release that statement today.

I know the club are behind a bit on the accounts but are they a few weeks behind on GMT than the rest of us?

This bit really really pisses me off 'We appeal for the local press to contact the club for information regarding the club'.

Why the fuck would they want to do that after the stuff they put out after Bill Powers exit?

Title: ANOTHER Club Statement!
Post by: RobertT on Monday, October 9, 2006, 17:18:23
but the statement itself serves no new purpose.  The meeting seemed to end well, everyone agreed to leave a short and simple statement for now and Paul has answered with a bit more, still positive in tone, when people suggested it wasn't enough.  It's certainly not what I would have expected when everyone shook hands at the end and I fail to see what real purpose it serves that is positive for the club.

I'd agree that hearing a bit more details about things can be helpful, but I just don't get this one and I think I must have left early or something.

What makes me laugh is the fans reps  have been really carefull in what they have said about Fridays meeting because it was agreed to "move on in a positive manor" which is frankly bollocks but understandable considering the Wills toy chucking tactics now they come out with this "please say we are doing a good job " statement. Its completely laughable .

Thats just more mud slinging. The siege mentality again.

Again, some of the stuff they have put out has been totally false. They
even admitted in a later statement that some of the stuff slinging mud at Devlin was not true. Id rather have no information, that blatant propoganda.

And as regards to the image of the club. Better english in the statements would help. They look like a right bunch of fuckwits releasing statements like that. Even a microsoft word checker would pick that up.

Rich, a good point was made on another website. The meeting on friday was positive. But who wasnt there?

Mike Diamandis. Im not being funny, but this bloke is a total nightmare for us. A complete shit stirer and I just want to see him nowhere near Swindon Town.

Im fed up with this bloke. He's got his own agenda and it isnt in with STFC. I dont care if the Wills have to go too anymore, they have set their stall out with this bloke and if they end up looking like a bunch of idiots because of Diamandis its up to them.

Mike Diamandis  :fu:

The only way for that to happen would be for the ground redevelopment to be the spearhead.

In order to do that they need to work closley with SBC.

Also it would be much easier to attract investors if the redevelopment was agreed, even some form of letter of intent etc.

Can you see that happening in the current climate ?

My god, my reply just above was assuming this thread was about one of the other 'another statements', if you know what i mean.

They really are taking the mick now. They know that the fans weren't happy with the lack of communication so they've thrown out 4 9or is it 3) 'statements' over the last 3 weeks, all of which has been terribly drafted, none of which seem to forward any clear or certain path, all of which have been contradicted by one of the other statements, all of which have had the defensive tone and vieled threat that if we don't shut up they're gone.

SACK THE BOARD - I was ready to leave all this rubbish and start thinking about getting back to enjoying the footie, but this statement is so amateurish, so unbelievably provacative and unecessary that i'm going to sing my heart out on saturday to get rid of these losers. had enough.

Agreed.

If nothing else I think this statement proves how headbangingly difficult this board are to deal with. Wills agree a statement on monday. Diamandis comes in tuesday and rips the things to shreds, declares war on the media, the fans and potential investors.

You can draw a few comparisons with the budget. That was ripped to shreds when someone got their hands on it.

You've hit on something interesting there - the only thing we know about Diamandis is that he's a loose cannon. This statement isn't written by someone thinking of the effect of what he is saying, onlly ruled by an anger that he's been questioned.

Suddenly the confusion at the club, be it regarding finance, transfers, marketing...you name it...is a shade clearer. Someone does the job and then Diamandis comes in and re-does the job for them. Why? because he has a general run over the whole club - absolutely unaccountable.

Or....he does know the reaction this will stir up, and he cites the criticism we're now typing as a 'personal attack' by 'small-minded fans'...difference being that he gets his words in the Adver, under nobodys name but 'the Clubs', whereas we're restricted to the message baords.

At least I've got a username Mike, you petulent child.

The cynic in me feels this deliberate act of provocation is a last roll of the dice for the Board......meaning put up or shut up.

It will backfire though, as progress can only be made with SBC on board and they could never work with a board that has alienated key elements amongst its club's  support.

I think if the latest statement was a post on a forum it may even grace Spacey's pointless post thread.

To be honest guys doesnt this ring true of many of the other goings on.

Budget meeting with Power/Wills- things get agreed- Diamandis comes along and it gets ripped up- hence the rift with Power and Devlin.

Power requests to meet with the Wills family alone - wonder why?

Now meeting with supporters group and Wills- Diamandis not present a positive meeting.  Again Diamandis gets involved and we have tonights statement

It aint a co-incidence chaps

What an odd statement to put out in the clubs name. Attacking a couple of our fans in public seems childish to me and others, clearly. Is this the same Paul Davies who is leading the ground redevelopment with the council and the trust? I hope not, otherwise the work done on the plans could be all undone by this nasty and personal statement.  Mike Wilkes seems a very capable and articulate charachter from what I have heard and read. Maybe the board dont want that sort of charcter in the boardroom and are trying to discredit them both?

It is only my opinion, but I agree with the line of thought that Mike D can be childish when he is questioned or called to account.  Looking back on some of the other unfathomable contradictions from the football club over the years  it is all looking like one person screams and everyone else jumps. It is very sad if the club is being run like this in all departments and something surely must be done to end it.

I laughed at the joint statement put out by the fans and the Wills family at the weekend as it was so obviously a polite climb down on all sides. It was at least a building brick on which to climb though. I did not see this comming and can only assume that the author of the statement is trying to stir things up personally for reasons known only to him or herself, is stupid, or both.

I hope fans just laugh at the dopey twats in the boardroom who call themselves directors as they dont desreve our attention. I am going to get vocal behind Gus and Dennis and the players as they are the key to this season.

By the way, if Dennis and Gus do walk away because of all this crap, I know which direction my finger of blame will be pointing in.

this is a fucking joke....

a total fucking joke....if the board want to piss off the fans to the point of no return then they are doing a fine job of it.

I went all the way to Accrington fucking Stanley on saturday to support this team and this is the thanks we get a clueless board who are running us into the ground.

I am wondering why I bother....

As for the slagging off of the trust, jez....I've spoken with Paul and Andrew many a times and they amount of hard work they put in (im sure others do to) for the good of this club and then the board shit on them.

The trust, and others helped put together new stadium plans....and they club have done nothing on the subject in months.

We have a discount ticket game against Blackpool, who spends their own time printing leaflets and then who spends thier ownthursday evening in town handing out leaflets...James Wills, Mike Diamandis....was it fuck

this club is a fucking joke.

Is it harming anyone by releasing club statements? No.

Of course it does you thick cunt, especially when they're slagging off particular fans!

Once again, the club have done their utmost to bollocks things up again - since Friday, everything has seemed to have calmed down a bit and then this happens.

SY although passions are running high, reverting to abuse of a regular poster isn't the way forward....the Board want to see a divided fan base, we need solidarirty.

Thank you Reg

SY is a cunt

Oh and my first post was mainly aimed at people who were slating the amount of club statements, being released, not the information provided in the latest one, as i had not read it at the time.

So therefore i meant is releasing aload of statements harming anyone....no, but after reading the statement i can see why they are harming people, in terms of whats written (if that makes any sense...)

Plot of recent film "The Queen"

There was once a very important personage who lived within a wall of secrecy and half -truths and spin. This was to maintain a privileged lifestyle, and continue a tradition of avoiding direct communication with the general public, except at Christmas.

This personage thrived on negativity and getting away from it all, while advisers carried out wishes to maintain the status quo. One day there was a popular uprising, when a very well regarded representative of the people was snubbed after her death by this personage, and the advisers panicked a bit because the shops were running out of flowers and the mood was ugly.

Many statements were issued, until eventually the Personage recognised the will of the people, and spoke on TV  " A PERSONAL STATEMENT" which was not really meant,  but the lips moved.  Having seen the personage emerge frim the shadows, saying nice things, the populace were easily moved to it's former affection, believing  that the Personage had been deeply misunderstood.
All was then well, and life continued as before.

Short quote from the Puffster in today's WDP...

Quote

The timing of the statement not only appears strange, coming so soon after Friday's meeting, which in a joint statement was described as "both constructive and positive", but is also embarrassing for Puffett after he had handled the meeting so judiciously.

"When I left the meeting I was delighted that we had sorted out a route to avoid re-occurrences of what had happened in the past," said Puffett last night.

Appears as mystified as the rest of us.

Oh and an update from the Beeb, strange that the interview requests have been turned down after the club's statement....

Quote

The truce lasted less than 72 hours
For the third week in a row Swindon Town have released a lengthy statement on the club website about matters off-the-field.

Despite apparently constructive talks on Friday night the statmeent criticises the actions of the Supporters Trust and also 'appeals to the local press to contact the club for information regarding the club'.

Repeated requests from BBC Radio Swindon for an interview with major benefactor Sir Seton Wills, his son James or their advisor Mike Diamandis have been turned down.

Meanwhile on the pitch, Swindon should complete the loan signing of Brentford striker Alex Rhodes later today.

The 24-year-old, who has scored just five league goals in his career and can also play on the left wing, will move to the County Ground for a month initially.

The deal comes as Swindon have scored just four goals in their last five games.

And Town's reserve side continue their season this evening. A young squad - including three Under 16 players - takes on Plymouth at Swindon Supermarine.

On the WDP.......

Quote
As a former CEO of Swindon Town I am gobsmacked to hear that once again war has broken out at the County Ground. It has become evident over the past four or so years that this board has little business acumen - or proper investment (save the Wills family)- to take the club forward. And given the inept performance in the spin and PR departments, perhaps it is time for someone else to have a go. As a Town fan and a Moonraker myself, I read with horror of the recent war of words and it saddens me enormously to see the club has not moved forward one inch since 2002. For a board of directors to so openly declare war on its own supporters, is about as close to committing sporting suicide as you can get. You couldn't write a novel like this - although maybe Brian Rix could pen a farce!

Yes Reg but who's word are you taking that Blatchely and Donegan were so bad, Diamandis?

Diamandis will take this club nowhere. We will continue in intensive care, be drip fed on a life suppot machine, basically stuck going nowhere.

We wont move forward as no investors will com in with them in charge, they MUST go

There is no comparison between this board and those in the past. It is quite clear that we have atleast made small steps forwards in terms of marketing and communication with fans.

I tend to stay quiet in these sorts of issues as I know very little about what goes on behind the scenes of the club. I am however sick and tired of this board spouting crap at us and expecting us to smaile and agree - the latest statement just takes the piss.

Everybody agreed that last week's meeting was constructive and positive, then they come out and personally attack one of the figure heads of our fan base and expect us to hush?! They are taking us for a ride and it annoys me that the club I love to support ios being held back by chilidish, immature behaviour on top of the problems already encountered with SBC. We moan that we can't work with the council.....we can't even work with ourselves at the moment and considering stadiums take 3-4 years minimum to plan and build, I can see our club falling into a black hole before it ever happens.

If they won't go without recouping their investment, then their thinly veiled threats look even more ridiculous.

Somes fans say they should grow up.

Others say they should go.

I do agree DV85, if we have no-one waiting in the wings we are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

However- i cannot honestly see anyone cominng in and working with these people, therefore the only option available is a full takeover of the club. I also cannot see SBC working with them either

In summary the 2 vital ingredients we need to move forward, fresh investment and the redevelopment will not happen withh the current regime, therefore thereis no alternative than for new ownership

Donnegan was an OK bloke. And he was suprisingly interested in team matters for a property man. But he was recklessly wracking up debts on behalf on STFC with no long term strategy whatsoever.

Thats why Devlin was so good, because he seemed to make a little money go so much further than the others could. But James Wills says he isnt comming back. We'll see.

As for Peter Rowe, hes posted as Redexile2 on here http://boards.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=1019&p=16&style=2&forumId=3486&action=1&replytoid=530990804

Title: ANOTHER Club Statement!
Post by: RobertT on Thursday, October 12, 2006, 14:28:40
He managed to span both teams, because SSW never sold his shares, just gave over the full running of the club (as I understand it).  So Rowe stayed on during the transition period before being ousted with Bob Holt I think taking the role at first (I might be wrong, maybe Devlin went straight into it).

I don't think he has a very high opinion of Diamandis, certainly has an axe to grind.

City is a personal noun and wouldn't change.
