Title: Ince as Manager.... Post by: Northern Red on Thursday, September 21, 2006, 11:51:50 Anyone thinking about the conspiracy theory? (Apologies if I sound like STFC_Bart!)
I'm sure when he signed there was a weird statement in the official release about the future at Swindon was certain or something. Was he signed in the knowledge that Wise had been sounded out about the Leeds job, and therefore he's a caretaker manager ready to take over? Just a theory - probably worse than Bart's. Title: Ince as Manager.... Post by: Fred Elliot on Thursday, September 21, 2006, 11:53:30 It would seem a natural progression when the time is right.
Now is NOT the right time for all parties I feel, not least STFC Title: Ince as Manager.... Post by: RobertT on Thursday, September 21, 2006, 11:55:21 that would suggest Bates knew he was going to sack Blackwell for sure weeks ago (because we started after Ince in the summer). Can't see that Bates is the sort of man to then let the current Manager have another 8 games or so before getting around to it, thus wasting the pre season.
Still can't see why Wise would really be the favourite or even 2nd favourite for such a job as the Leeds one right now. If I was Leeds fan, he wouldn't be top of my list. Title: Ince as Manager.... Post by: janaage on Thursday, September 21, 2006, 11:58:07 Ince as manager, wouldn't be exactly over the moon at that move.
Now Incey as Leeds manager, now that'd be alright. Title: Ince as Manager.... It was common knowledge for weeks beforehand that he was going to take Glenda to Chelsea tho Rob Title: Ince as Manager.... Title: Ince as Manager.... Post by: janaage on Thursday, September 21, 2006, 11:59:49 Chelsea's season had finished a few weeks before ours though, we didn't play the play off final til May 30th was it? Chelsea had finished early May. So he didn't keep a manager on for the sake of it back then.

Title: Ince as Manager.... Post by: Reg Smeeton on Thursday, September 21, 2006, 15:50:03 Having listened to Wise on RS at 4:30, sounded like he's expecting to be off.
This would of course please the Board as we'd get a tidy compensation for Wise Poyet Tuttle and Lee. My gut instinct is that Ince would be a bit of a disaster....I suppose a return for Iffy shouldn't be ruled out.....but I think Ady Williams should throw his hat into the ring. With you there, I can't see it being a success personally but who knows? I really really hope it won't be an issue though.... Title: Ince as Manager.... Post by: kaufman on Thursday, September 21, 2006, 16:01:58 so what did wise have to say?

He was certainly upset about Linda losing her job! Not sure how to take his refusal to answer questions about Leeds. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Title: Ince as Manager.... From past experience we know that anything other than a straight answer means something is going on....the problem may be what happens with Wises's backrom staff.....Leeds have a few in place who'd need paying up, as Wise would want to take his boys with him.....not cheap. In the past Bates wanted Warnock at Chelsea but wasn't prepared to take his number two Mick Jones as well. Maybe a compromise with Poyet going and Lee and Tuttle staying needs sorting. Title: Ince as Manager.... Post by: kaufman on Thursday, September 21, 2006, 16:19:37 i honestly dont think wise will get the leeds job, it is more likely that he would resign i think.
my gut feeling is that wise will stay.. Title: Ince as Manager.... Post by: fatbury on Thursday, September 21, 2006, 17:44:54 Wise will never stay ... Ince will be a useless manager ... doesnt matter we are stuffed whoever takes over
