almost 3,000 people lost their lives in a horrendous terrorist attack.

I remember the day vividly as I had pulled a sickie. I was watching sky news at home at the exact moment that the second plane flew into the tower. I remember thinking that it didn't look real and it never really sank in until later on in the day.

In the US at the moment and so wanted to pay my respects.

I was in Cairo (Egypt, not the nightclub in West Swindon!) and only caught a snippet of what happened at the time. I didn't know the full extent of everything 'til we bought a radio and listened to the bombing of Afghanistan on the World service and didn't see footage until I was in Joberg at the end of October. Scary time to be in Egypt, and was stuck there 'til early October as my mate had lost his passport.

I was on Koh Samui in a supermarket having just eaten beef fried rice and watched Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, which was fucking grim in it’s self.

It was muchos strange watching live as the buggers crashed in and then walking past another restaurant to see one of the buggers collapse.

It the sort of thing that you'll never ever forget where you were...

I was at work for the police at the time. It was manic, but horrific at the same time. A tragic sad day.

I watched Neighbours. Then set off to watch us lose in extra time at The Hawthorns.

Sad day. On a positive note I have now finished my exams.

Seems I had exactly the same day as Hans.  Neighbours, then West Brom.

I remember watching it at work; all the channels had it on and seeing the 2nd plane fly into the towers live was just surreal; took a while to sink in what was happening.

I also pulled a sickie and watched the whole thing from the off - still went up to the West Brom game though.  Perhaps Bobby Howe's best ever performance in a Town shirt.

I remember watching it at work, then thinking the west brom would be called off. It wasn't - so we went up by minibus and watched town play like Brazil. Strange atmosphere - felt like we shouldn't have been there, but one of the best games I saw us play that season.

Been watching all the related programmes this week - still can't believe it when I see it.

I still think the "Pentagon attack" and the "passengers making the other one crash" is bullshit.

How come there is little to no footage of these events?  You're telling me not one japanese tourist in washington had their camera attached to their face (as per normal)?

I was working in a business centre in london at the time.  The company I worked for had offices on the top floors, tragic and will always stay with me.
