I have to agree with Jan here on the basis that I have found dodgy bits in Sausage rolls and pasties previously. Title: I've been making... Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, August 18, 2006, 15:49:31 Maybe Greggs' downfall began when they expanded into Scotland, before coming down south

Title: I've been making... Post by: flammableBen on Friday, August 18, 2006, 17:20:10 Well I've had lot's of fun. Especially with the pictures. There are loads of pictures of brown mixtures he he he.
Any hoo. Step one was the fun part of melting the chocolate (350g) and butter (250g - a whole thing of the stuff). Chocolate is easy to burn so you have to be careful. The safest way of doing this would have been in a bowl over a saucepan of water. I'm somewhat of an 'on the edge chef' and did it straight in a wok on a really low heat. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/poo.jpg Whilst the chocolate was melting. 3 eggs were whisked and then 250g of dark muscovado sugar whisked in until a dark smooth thick sticky substance was achieved. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/poo2.jpg (it's actually a lot darker than that picture shows. Loads of bubbles had appeared at the top when I took the photo). One last part of the mixture was required. 85g of plain flour a a tsp of baking powder http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/notpoo.jpg Having everything-a-ready and the chocolate nicely cooled the mixing together started. The eggy-sugar and buttery chocolate mixtures were gently folded together. Then the floury-baking powder sieved in and gently all mixed up. At this junction I added some white choclate chips and some raisens for extra aceness and they were in the cupbaord. this is of course optional and pretty much anything could be added. Personally, I wouldn't recomend broccoli or spinach. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/poomix.jpg Into a tin lined with that papery stuff it went and into a pre-heated oven (160C). For about 40-50 mins. Until it could be prodded in the middle with a skewer with only a few moist crumbs getting stuck. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/pootin.jpg It then came out of the oven and left to cool for a while before being transfered from the tin to a lovely little wire cooling thing. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/done.jpg I then did cut it up and eat some. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/yum.jpg Title: I've been making...
